Sky is collateral damage.

Rain's pov:

I hummed to the tune playing through the speakers in the car as I gazed out the window.

The windows were rolled down so the cool fresh wind was brushing against me.

It felt really nice.

Sky, who was driving, was also tapping on the steering wheel to the tune.

I glanced at the side mirror and frowned when I didn't see p'Pai's car behind us.

I peeked out the window a bit.

The road was empty behind us.

"Rain, I told you not to poke your head out the window when I agreed to keep them rolled down." Sky yanked my jacket, making me fall back into my seat.

He rolled up the windows and turned on the air conditioning.

"They're not behind us." I looked at him confused.

He blinked and glanced at the side mirror.

"Maybe they got stuck in the traffic?"

But there wasn't much traffic when we passed the highway.

I took my phone from the cup holder and texted p'Phayu.

I knew he would see it since p'Pai is the one driving.

Me: P' where are you guys?

His reply came not even a minute later.

P'Phayu: We stopped at a gas station. Pai had to use the toilet.

Ahh.

I couldn't help but chuckle just imagining his annoyed expression as he waits for p'Pai.

Me: Should we pull over and wait?

P'Phayu: No need. You guys go on ahead. We'll catch up.

Me: Ok.

"They stopped at a gas station because p'Pai had to use the toilet." I looked at Sky.

He scoffed and shook his head.

"He said to go ahead and not wait for them. They'll catch up." I added, tossing my phone back into the cup holder.

He nodded.

The road was empty except for us as we drove.

Not many people pass by here after all.

I would be creeped out if I had to drive down this road at night because there are only woods on either side and no buildings or anything.

Thank God we planned this weekend trip so we won't have to go or leave the beach house at night.

Now, why are we in two different cars if we're going on a trip together you ask?

Well, there's really no grand reason.

The drive takes 3 hours and Sky is annoyed with p'Pai for a reason he refuses to say. So as a punishment, he said we'll take different cars.

P'Phayu and I are just collateral damage apparently. He dragged me with him and left p'Phayu to be with p'Pai.

I mean I don't mind it that much.

P'Phayu did seem annoyed at p'Pai when we left though. And I'm sure he's now glaring daggers at him because he made them stop at a gas station and lag behind.
