Rain's pov:

I took deep breaths through the pain emanating from my waist, trying not to make any noise.

It felt as if the spot was burning and the sensation was spreading through ny body from there.

The nurse was setting the tools up while the doctor was observing my wound.

"The bullet is still embedded inside, so we'll need to take it out before we can stitch up the wound. We'll need to sedate you to do that, since it will cause a lot of pain." He looked at me.

Oh god, that's going to be painful as fuck.

I nodded. "Ok."

He nodded and signalled to the nurse who nodded as well and went to the cabinets on the other side of the room.

My gaze wandered to the two people standing near us, watching silently.

Their expressions were impassive and they had their arms crossed over their chests.

But i could see the worry they were trying to hide in their eyes.

I gave a small apologetic smile.

This isn't how i wanted things to go. I wanted to help them not make them worry like this.

The nurse came closer with the sedative in her hand.

I closed my eyes as she cleaned the spot on my arm before injecting it.

Porsche's pov:

I tapped my arm as i leaned back against the wall near the door to the medical room.

Pete was sitting on the chair infront of me, with his arms crossed over his chest and his foot was tapping anxiously.

This was not how i was expecting our day to go.

We had gone out to the mall, planning on doing some shopping. Everything was going fine. We had our guns on us and could have defended ourselves without much trouble if necessary.

But then things went south so fast we didn't even have time to process it.

We had just come out of our car and were on our way into the mall when suddenly a boy slammed into me, making me topple over and fall to the groun with him on top.

Pete had drawn his gun, ready to shoot, and i was eeady to attack as well, but then we processed the sound we had heard just as the boy had slammed into me.

A gunshot.

And the way Pete's face paled as he looked at the boy told me more than any words could have.

That shot was aimed at me.

But he got in between.

He whimpered in pain again my chest, obviously trying to breathe through the pain.

"Shit!" Pete sheathed his gun and fell to his knees near us.

That pushed me into action as well.

The bullet had hit his waist, thankfully having avoided any vital points. But he was bleeding and the bullet was still inside.

So we rushed him to our medical wing.

I looked at the closed door.

The fact that he was still conscious until they sedated him is a good sign atleast.

And we managed to stop the bleeding before it got too bad too.

I looked to my left when i heard rushed footsteps.
