Prapai's pov:

"-ai... Pai, can you hear me? It's mae." Mae's voice came into focus after a while.

I shakily looked up from my knees and saw mae kneeling in front of me, looking at me with a worried look.

"It's ok, son. It's just mae." She said softly, reaching out to my hands.

I let go of my hair which i didn't realize i was pulling on and let her take my hands into hers.

I hesitantly looked behind her and saw that he wasn't there anymore.

"I already kicked him out. It's ok. Mae will not allow someone who hurts you to be here." She squeezed my hands gently.

I let go of the breath i didn't realize i was holding.

"That's my good boy. Take deep breaths for me ok?" She leaned forward and kissed my forehead gently.

I gulped the lump in my throat and tried to take deep breaths.

It was hard as my breaths came in stutters but i managed.
.
.
I finally managed to breathe properly after a while a relaxed slightly against the window.

She reached out and wiped my cheeks with her palms.

I didn't realize i was crying.

"Do you think you can stand?" She asked softly.

I shook my head slightly.

I know my legs won't work right now.

"Ok. Sky is waiting in the dining room since i called him over for lunch. Do you want me to call him here?" She combed back my hair gently.

I perked up at that immediately.

Sky is here?

She smiled warmly as she saw my expression.

"I'll just go and bring him ok?"

She moved to stand but i held her hands tightly making her stop.

No, don't leave me alone...

I don't want to be alone...

What if he comes back?

"Ssshh... It's ok, son. He won't come back. I made sure to warn him not to set foot in my house again." She assured.

I bit my lips but didn't let go of her hands.

"Ok, I'll just call Sky then. Can you let go of one hand?" She sat down on the floor properly.

I nodded slightly and let go of her right hand.

She reached into her pocket and took out her phone.

I focused on her small fingers and the wedding ring she was wearing as she called him, told him to come here, and explained where it is.
.
.
.
Familiar footsteps came in after around 2 minutes.

I could tell he stopped not too far from the door. Probably trying to find us.

"Sky, here." Mae raised her hand.

I looked in the direction as he came around the desk.

He stopped for a second when our eyes met before rushing up to me and kneeling next to me.

"P'Pai? What happened?" He asked worriedly as he observed my face.

I shook my head slightly moving to hug him.

I nuzzled my face in his neck and breathed in his scent as he wrapped his arms around me as well.

His scent is so different from that man's.
