Leatherwings are a Httyd species that I made. It is a mystery class dragon that was almost hunted to extinction for the leather-like material that makes up its wings and tail.
Leatherwings are almost defenseless. Their main form of defense if their fire, whose color can vary from dragon to dragon.
When they were discovered, they were hunted for the strong "leather" they have on their wings and tail.
This led to them becoming endangered. Only a few Leatherwings still exist and they are now only found in the Hidden World.
Leatherwings are normally playful and docile, which led to their easy capture. When treated badly, a Leatherwing can become fearful and slightly agressive.
For their diet, Leatherwings eat rodents or thorns from plants. They may also eat berries, frogs, and cats.
