Jin jerked as he woke up the morning after but a sudden pain in his head forced him to lie back down. He closed his eyes for a while and when the pain subsided, he slowly sat back down.
Staring at his clothes, he realized he was still in his office clothes. He could not remember how he was able to go home. All he could recall was he drank wine with... "Holy shit." Jin buried his face in his hands as he remembered drinking with his boss. "Of all the people, why him?"
Jin thumped his feet on the bed thinking if he did or said something that only his friends should hear. He dreaded saying something he shouldn't have. And he regretted thinking of drinking just to annoy Jimin of not being the first to witness his first alcohol.
He grabbed his bag sitting on the bedside table and pulled out his phone. Several messages and missed calls from Jimin were there.
"How are you? Did your date turn out well?"
Jin pouted and typed angrily, as if fighting the screen of his phone, while speaking what he was typing, "Ask your non-existent dog and her puppies." Jin threw his phone on the bed as he headed toward the shower. Still thinking about how he was able to go home. "I swear Jimin. If Mr. Jeon dragged me home last night, I will bury you and your boyfriend alive."
Jin stared at himself in the mirror. The shower did lessen his headache. He was just lazy to comb his hair and just let it fall messy. He was alone anyway and was not being cute for anybody. All he knew was he was hungry and he needed to eat something. It was almost noon and he could not believe sleeping that long.
As he walked to the kitchen, he could already smell something. Like someone was cooking. His breathing started to slow down when he realized that his boss was there.
As soon as Jungkook felt Jin's presence, he smiled while turning off the stove. "Just in time. I cooked breakfast but since it is already noon, I prepared our lunch. I cooked soup to ease your headache."
How did he know I have a headache? Oh shit! my hair! Jin combed his hair with his fingers and regretted why he did not earlier. "Good noon, Mr. Jeon. I'm sorry. I didn't know you were here. I should have prepared something."
Jin hesitated to sit down as he felt embarrassed that the table was already set. The food, including the breakfast his boss, prepared and he wasn't able to eat, was already prepared. All he would do was eat.
Jungkook scooped a serving of soup and gave the bowl to Jin. "Have some. It's good for your stomach."
"Thank you."
Jungkook sat across Jin as he took a spoon of soup. "Mr. Jeon, regarding last night-"
"Seokjin, all of that didn't matter. I know you're feeling embarrassed again about that. I'm telling you now, you don't need to. I'll say this again, I am only your boss at work but I can be a listener too."
Jin looked down and have some more soup. He wanted to ask a lot of things but he didn't know how. First, he wanted to ask how he managed to go to bed. Second, what he said to Jungkook because he knew he said something. "I cannot remember what I did or said last night. I can't even remember how I managed to go home. I'm sorry if you heard something you should not hear. I hope I did not say anything I shouldn't have."
Jungkook paused for a while before putting his spoon on his plate. "You should not apologize for speaking your mind or for being true. We need to speak out sometimes."
"I was drunk."
"Drunk usually speaks the truth."
"Did I say something offensive?"
