Jin stared at Jungkook, waiting for Jungkook to say it was a joke. But Jungkook didn't say a word. Realizing that Jungkook's mom was really there, Jin quickly sat on the bed, slapping Jungkook on the arm.
"Are you serious?!"
Jungkook held Jin's hand and smiled, "Mia called and told me they came. That's why I showered."
Jin closed his eyes and took a deep breath. It wasn't how he envisioned his first meeting with Jungkook's parents, but now he was placed in that position and had no way to back up. "You should have woken me up. Do they know I'm here?"
"Mom chose to spend the night so she could cook for you when she learned you're here."
Jungkook's words were reassuring, but still, Jin was hesitant, "I don't want to give a first bad impression. I don't want them to think--"
A kiss silenced Jin as Jungkook sat down to press their lips together, "Babe, stop overthinking. I know this isn't how you imagined your first meeting with them, but please, take it easy.
I'm sorry if it came as a surprise. My parents usually visit my home after arriving from a vacation. It's just that I honestly don't care when they are arriving. They often travel, and I don't really track them. They sometimes come and go even without seeing me. Mom checking my food supplies, and Dad checking the house. They don't have a fixed schedule. I'm sorry."
Jin rested his forehead on Jungkook's shoulder, feeling defeated and mindless. He didn't want to sound or appear rude. In his mind, he was just an outsider. He didn't even have an ounce of right to question Jungkook. "You don't need to apologize. This is your home, and they are your parents. I'm sorry. Did I come up rude? I was just very anxious because I get nervous just thinking about meeting them. And them arriving while I was sleeping in your bed was... Embarrassing."
Jungkook understood Jin's anxieties, and he didn't intend to add more to what Jin already had. But knowing his parents, he knew very well that there was nothing to worry about. "I'm sorry for making you worry. You should meet them first to ease all those. I'll wait for you unless I can join you in the shower."
"You can't." Jin rolled his eyes and hurried toward the bathroom. He felt the door getting heavy on the other side while trying to close it. "Jungkook, let go of the door!"
"I'll help you shower."
"I don't need help." Jin is now using his body to push the door close.
With only a hand pushing the door back, Jungkook chuckled, "I'll take all your stress away, baby. I promise."
"Let go of the door, or you'll be on a timeout!" Jin almost hit his cheek on the door when Jungkook let go, and it finally closed.

Jin's heart was pounding hard against his chest as Jungkook led him downstairs. The warm shower did not help his body relax. His mind was going haywire with thoughts about how Jungkook's parents would see or think about him.
Namjoon's parents never liked him. He was branded as a gold digger from the very beginning. Meeting Jungkook's parents felt like he was being transported back to when Namjoon's mother looked at him from head to foot-judging his character just from his unbranded clothes. He dreaded that moment to make a repeat. And though Jungkook's words did give him a spark of hope that this time would be different, his only wish was to meet Jungkook's parents in a much nicer situation. Not him sleeping on Jungkook's bed, implying they just had sex.
Jin shook his head, wishing it could shake away all the negativities filling his head.
"Jin.."
Jin looked up at Jungkook, whose hand was tightly wrapped around his. He didn't notice they were at the end of the stairs already.
