Amanda's POV
I was scared. The people had just come out of nowhere. What were they even doing there?
I was hiding in the backseat next to Rose, Albus and the little girl that had come with the other Potters. James and Gwen were in the front of the car, crouching below the windows. I had no idea if people attacking each other was anything usual in the magic world, Albus didn't even look scared. He just had a solemn face and a relaxed body. The little girl on the other hand looked just as scared as I was, if not more.
"Hey", I whispered to the girl calmly. I had figured that helping her calm down could work as a distraction. Then maybe I would calm down too.
The girl looked up at me. Her eyes were wide and I saw her hand shaking slightly. She looked younger than both me and Albus. I lay a soft hand on her arm and brought her closer to me.
"It will be alright, okay? We'll just sit here and nothing will hurt us", I soothed and the girl leaned into me more. I wrapped my arm around her.
"What if they get here?", she asked in a frightened whisper. brushed some hair away from her face softly.
"Then I'll make sure that they won't get to you", I promised her. She leaned into me again and I rubbed her arm slowly. When I looked up from the girl I saw both Albus and James looking at me with wide, thankful eyes. I only smiled at them and tried to keep the fright from being visible on my face.
Before anything else could happen the car door next to me slammed open. I turned my head towards the sound and pushed the girl away from me. One of the masked people stood there, but I didn't have any time to process it. A grip on my arm and then I got yanked out of the car. I didn't scream, I didn't fight. My whole body was paralyzed. I felt something being poked at my head. Everything around us froze.
"Not so brave now, Potter", the person behind me said. It was a man, with a deep voice. His grip on me was tight. I didn't dare to fight back.
"Let the girl go", Harry said a few meters away from me. I tried to not look afraid, even though I was pretty sure I was failing. I tried to focus on my breathing, getting it more even, but it was impossible.
"She's the only thing keeping you from firing at me", the man behind em stated. I let my eyes scan the area around us. The other three masked people from before were laying unconscious on the ground. Only the man behind me was left.
"Let her go!", Harry demanded and I noticed how he avoided replying to the man's previous words.
"I might just take her with me, actually. She seems to have become friends with your son over there. Maybe I should teach her what sort of people she's supposed to hang around", the man said and took a step backwards. My fright was grooving. Was he serious with kidnapping me? I prayed that he would just let me go.
I then suddenly felt the thing poking my head sting a little, before it moved a slightly. It wasn't being held as firmly anymore. I realized that Harry wouldn't be able to do anything, that if I wanted to get away I would have to save myself.
With a deep breath I threw my head backwards and felt the back of it make impact with the man's face. I whirled around and kicked out. My knee hit the man between his legs and he groaned in pain. I then ran straight away from him, towards the car. Once I turned around, the man was already unconscious and Harry was lowering the stick he was holding, I guessed it was a wand. The first person to reach me was James. He had hopped out of the car and met me a few steps away from it. Before any words could be spoken he engulfed me in a hug. I shivered in his arms, the fright still lingering in my skin. I refused to cry, refused to break down into the exhausted lump I was. I was still feeling sick from staying outside the car for half the night. That feeling mixed with the exhaustion of the situation made my legs weak. I just wanted to sink down to the ground and never get up.
James held me up though, supported some of my weight and helped me stay on my feet. His arms around me were warm and comforting. After a short while he let go, not entirely, only enough so that I could look at the others. One of James' arms stayed around my waist, while I leaned on his side.
"Are you okay, Amanda?", Harry came up and answered. His green eyes were filled with concern. I nodded, but couldn't force myself to say the words. Rose quickly strode past Harry, ignoring James, and hugged me to her. I hugged her back, relaxing in the familiarity.
"We're leaving! Now!", Gwen then decided out of nowhere. Both Rose and I turned around, surprised by her announcement.
"What?", Rose asked while frowning at her sister. I could still feel James' presence beside me, but we where no longer touching.
"We're leaving. It was a mistake of us to come here. What if that crazy dude had done something to you, Amanda? And you're sick too! I'm supposed to take care of you two, and I'm failing. We're going back, right now", Gwen ranted and I was surprised by how guilty she sounded. It was not her fault that the wizard had attacked taken me. It wasn't her fault that I had wondered back to the car without the car keys. Nothing was even remotely her fault.
"She's right. You three should probably head back home. There might be a few more of them left." Harry looked grim. He pulled a hand through his hair and sighed. Rose went around the car to get inside, while I then leaned on the car for support. Albus and the girl stood beside their dad, but James was still standing close to me. He turned his attention to me and I saw how he noticed me still needing support.
"Are you sure that you're fine?", he asked me concerned. I smiled calmly.
"I'm okay", I told him as honestly as I could. I would be completely fine after some rest. Nothing was seriously wrong with me.
"I'll write to you", he told me, and I almost wanted to laugh. Write to me? Where we living in the nineteens or something?
"I could just give you my number", I suggested, which made him frown with confusion. I smiled at him and waited for an answer.
"Your number? Number to what?", he asked and it made me realize that I had slipped. I didn't let it show on my face, but on the inside I was cursing myself.
"Oh, sorry! It's an American thing, I forgot. But you should write ot me", I told him before getting inside the car. I waved at him just before the car slowly started to follow the path out of the woods.
"I'm never getting involved with this crazy stuff again", Gwen muttered in the front seat. I didn't feel the same way. I knew that I would miss the magic. At the same time I was happy that the only thing awaiting me was some normal calmness.

Third person's POV
Maybe he had been captured. Maybe their original plan had failed. The man still felt successful. He had known that spying on the Potter kids would pay off. Because of that he knew that the girl and the oldest son of the Chosen One were pretty close to each other. He knew that what he had done would pay off. It would all be worth it.
It would send a message. The message of his masters. The message of darkness. It would tell everyone that the dark times were returning, and this time no one would be able to stop it.
