Amanda's POV

I was freaking out. It was fifteen minutes until the train would departure to Hogwarts. Fifteen minutes! I wasn't even at the platform.

My mum, Rose and I were rushing through the people, hurrying towards platform Nine and Three-Quarters.

"Hurry up Amanda! You're going to miss the train", my mum said from infront of me. I kept rushing until I reached my destination. But it wasn't there.

We were standing between platform nine and ten. There was nothing between them, only a brick wall. I glanced at my mum and at Rose. They looked as confused as I was.

"Rose! Amanda!", a voice yelled out before we could do much else than look around us. Roxanne was walking towards us. A guy, maybe a few years older than us was walking beside her. Behind them there was a handsome ginger haired man and a dark-skinned, gorgeous woman.

"Roxanne!", Rose and I greeted the girl from a few weeks ago. Her hair was lose and went down her back in curls. She was wearing a skirt and a lose shirt. She looked stunning in her outfit, especially in the wooden heels she was wearing.

"It's so nice to see you guys again. I didn't know you guys went to Hogwarts!" The two slightly older people behind her seemed a bit confused at Roxanne talking to us.

"I've transfered this year, but Rose won't attend though. We really wanted her to but she wasn't allowed", I told Roxanne with a frown. Both Rose and I had tried to get Rose into Hogwarts. She had however been declined. Apparently I had only been accepted because I had been targeted by those evil witches and wizards.

"How sad! At least I get one new friend", Roxanne said and hugged us both before she ran straight through the brick wall infront of us. I was flabbergasted. She had ran straight trough the brick wall! What the actual heck?!

"You can go next, we'll be right behind you", the slightly older guy, that I assumed was Roxy's brother, said. I smiled at him and took a hold of Rose's arm. Before she could protest I pulled her towards the wall. We ran straight through it, just like Roxy had.

"This is unbelievable!", Rose exclaimed and I could only agree. We were at platform Nine and Three-Quarters. Roxanne was looking at our awestruck faces with confusion.

"Why are you looking at everything as if it was crazy?", she asked and pulled us away from the brick wall. Rose and I exchanged a look. We weren't supposed to tell anyone that we weren't magical. It would draw to much attention to me at the school.

"It just looks so amazing. The school in America is just out in the open. We don't get a cool train ride", I quickly lied. Roxanne seemed to accept the answer as the others came up to us. My mum was looking at me with worry. I walked up to her and took her hand.

"You said it yourself, it's best this way", I whispered in her ear as I gave her a tight hug. I wouldn't let myself cry. Leaving her and my family was crazy. I had said good-bye to my dad before I left the house. He wasn't that happy about me leaving them. Neither was I, but both my dad and I knew that it was safer at Hogwarts. My mum hadn't shown any doubt about the decision, not until I was about to actually leave.

"I know, honey. I'll miss you", she whispered back and gave me a kiss on the cheek. I pulled away and went to hug Rose. We hugged each other hard.

"Don't you dare get yourself hurt, do you hear me?", she said and I could hear that even though she was joking, her voice held some seriousness in it.

"Same thing goes for you", I said and we both let go. The whistle signaling that the train was about to leave sounded. I sighed and walked towards the red train together with Roxy. My first year at Hogwarts was infront of me.

I was sitting with Roxy and Louis in one of the compartments. Roxy had opened one of the windows and was smoking a cigarette. Louis was shaking his head at her, but didn't say anything. I had taken out my guitar and i was playing a soft tune. It was nice, comfy.

"Play something upbeat", Roxy demanded and I laughed at her request. As quickly as I could I tried to remember a song I could play. Even though it was old, I liked it. It was by Ed Sheeran and quite upbeat. I remember learning it while also singing it. The song was simply enough called "Sing".

I started playing the chords and then I started to sing. I could see both Roxy and Louis nodding with the beat. I smiled while singing, loving the feeling of playing music.

Before I could finish the song the compartment door opened. I stopped playing immediately. As I looked up I saw James standing there. He was smiling as he sat down in our compartment.

"Stop with that Roxy! It makes it impossible to breath around you", James complained from beside me. Roxy sighed and rolled her eyes while putting out the cigarette.

"This is the last one until christmas. Seriously, cut me some slack", Roxy argued and leaned back in her seat. I smiled at how familiar it all seemed. Even though they were magical, they were normal.

"Were my eyes betraying me, or did I see you play that guitar?", James asked me as I put the guitar away. I smiled at him softly.

"Yes, I was playing it before you came", I answered and sat down in my seat. In my hands I held my iPod and I wanted to listen to some music really bad. I couldn't do it while I was talking to James though. That would just be rude.

"I had no idea you played." I smirked at James before answering.

"I'm full of hidden talents." James raised his eyebrows at me as if asking me what those were. I leaned my back against the window and put my legs over James' legs.

"I'm surprisingly good at making coffee", I told him which he only laughed at. I childishly pouted before putting in my headphones. Without bothering with another word I started to play the music.

I drifted away with the tunes. They were softly carrying me away to another place, releasing my imagination. I could imagine anything and everything while listening to the stories in the songs.

After some time I got disturbed. James poked my arm which made me take out one of the earbuds.

"Yeah?", I asked him. He told me that the train was going to arrive soon, and that we should change into our robes. Together we stood up and headed outside the compartment. Both Louis and Roxy had already changed into their robes and stayed behind.

"How have you been?", James asked me and I could detect some worry in his voice.

"I'm alright. I feel no different from how I felt before the quidditch game", I told him with a sincere smile. He seemed to trust my answer, which was good. I hadn't been lying to him.

"Good. I've been worried about you since I last saw you", he told me which brought a laugh from my lips.

"It was just a few days ago." He laughed with me until we then stopped infront of the bathrooms. There was one for girls and one for boys.

"This is where we part", I told him and I was just about to enter when he suddenly stopped me. Before I could react he kissed my cheek and then went inside the boys bathroom. Filled with shock, I touched my cheek. He had just kissed me! I hadn't expected it at all! At the same time, it brought a smile to my face. A smile I carried with me into the bathroom.
