Amanda's POV
James and I had barely been together two weeks before it was time for Halloween. Usually the holiday wasn't very special in my opinion, but that year I was actually very excited about it. James had told me about a party that three seventh year Gryffindors had planned. Instead of risking having it in their common room they had actually planned on having it in the forbidden forest. They had also said that it was in the Halloween spirit.
The forbidden forest used to be crawling with creatures, but lately it isn't as dangerous as before. That doesn't mean that it's harmless though. No one's allowed there still. It's just not that big of a risk having a party their. It's like having a party in an abandon warehouse. Getting caught wasn't guaranteed, but it was a big possibility.
I had been to one of those parities in june the same year. The police had come, but neither I nor Rose had gotten caught. Therefor I wasn't scared about the party. If I could escape the cops, I could escape magical creatures. At least, I thought so.

"What are you going to dress as?", asked Allison from behind her trunk. She had poured the content of the trunk all around the room and was looking for a costume that she could wear during the night.
"I don't even get why we're dressing up!", Christina whined from her bed. She was currently trying to make cat ears with a diadem.
"You usually don't dress up for halloween?", I asked in surprise. I had thought it was the most common thing in the world, but apparently I had been wrong. I got up from my own bed. I had finished making my own costume. After a short while of deciding what I should be I had decided on being a zombie. My aunt was a make up artist and had thought me many cool tricks. Therefor I was able to make the cutest zombie girl makeup. I had ripped open a pair of tights and a white T-shirt. I had also "borrowed" some salamander blood from the potions class room. It had looked perfect splattered over the ripped clothes, although I had not used it all. My clothes also had a lot of dirt on them after I rolled around outside in them. It even got me some funny looks, but it was totally worth it.
"No, we never do. This year is the first year we're doing it, and it's only because of the party", Allison explained, although she sounded mich more excited than Christina.
"Have you done this before?", asked Christina as she finished one of the ears on the diadem. I got of my bed as I noticed that it was getting pretty late and I had to start getting ready.
"Yeah, every year since I was little. Last year I went to this halloween party and it was completely mental!", I gushed as I took out my makeup kit from my trunk and sat down on the floor with a mirror.
"That must have been amazing", Allison smiled as she started to clean up the mess she had made. Christina sighed in content as she finished her cat ears.
"It was just something everyone did. My aunt used to do my make up until I was old enough to do it myself. One year she made me into the cutest dear ever", I told my two friends. They both had started getting ready, just as I had. My makeup wasn't to complicated, mostly because I didn't have to much resources.
I started with painting my face, neck and parts of my chest all in white. It wasn't the clearest white, more like dirty white, and then I filled some spots with dark eyeshadow to make it look like dirt. Around my eyes I used black eyeliner and eyeshadow, making them stand out against the white. I used brown lipstick and also took a little of the blood that I had left and smeared it over my face and chest. After I had put on my clothes I had to admit that I looked pretty bad ass. The only thing I had left to do was my hair. I made some messy curls and then messed up my hair with some hairspray.
