Amanda's POV
I was in the Great Hall, watching James from my place at the Slytherin table. I was excited because we were going to Hogsmead later on and I had on my fabulous shoes. I was feeling excited.
"If you keep on staring and ignore your food I will scream!", Allison raged. I turned to her and at first it was a little hard to focus on her face. Then when she finally came into focus I could she how irritated she looked. I tried to smile apologetic but I was pretty sure it came out as cheeky instead.
"I'm not even going to say anything, because I actually like you as a friend", Allison muttered and turned away. Christina was smirking at me while raising her eyebrows. I rolled my eyes at her, but when she started kissing the air i couldn't contain my laughter. She looked ridiculous.
"Stop it! I wasn't looking at anything", I told Christina while throwing a piece of bread at her. She was smirking again and this time it looked a bit mischievous.
"James I'm so in love with you! I can't even eat breakfast without keeping my eyes of off you. My heart breaks every time that you're not near me", Christina said while imitating my voice, very badly might I add. Her hands were at her heart and she was really getting into the part.
"I don't know how to tell you this Christina, but I don't feel the same way", I heard James say from behind us. Christina, who was sitting beside me, had not been able to see James and was gaping widely as she heard James' voice. I laughed loudly together with Allison, who sat infront of us. I got up from my seat before Christina could reply, still grinning, and took James' arm.
"I think we should go before Christina bursts out into violent sobs. Believe me, it's really bad once she's started", I joked loudly enough for Christina to hear. She glared at me with such annoyance that I couldn't help but laugh again as James and I hurried away from the table.
"Why was she even saying that?", James asked once we had left the Great Hall. There were a lot of other students roaming the halls and who filled the otherwise silent corridor.
"She was just trying to imitate me", I sighed and it wasn't until after the words had left my mouth that I realized what it must've sounded like.
"I don't mean that I've said that! She was just mocking me because they saw me looking at you... No! I wasn't looking at you... I mean I was just staring of into space and I just happened to be looking towards the Gryffindor table. I mean... I just... I wasn't-", I interrupted myself from rambling before I said something worse. James was smiling at me in amusement, his shoulders shaking a little from the laughter he was trying to surpress. I huffed loudly and my shoulders sagged as I crossed my arms over my breast.
"You're actually quite cute when you're rambling", he told me and flung his arm over my hanging shoulders. I tried to shake him off, but he only hugged me closer to him. I poked him in the ribs and because of the surprise he let me go.
"You were laughing at me", I told him accusingly. My words only made him smile wider and a small chuckle even escaped his lips. I stalked away from him in annoyance.
"You were just acting so cute and I was only laughing because of how silly it was. You don't have to worry about it, and it was adorable that you was", he told me earnestly as he caught up with me. I hadn't really been mad at him, but it was nice knowing that he would actually care if I had been. I turned towards him with a small smile.
"Okay, you can put the arm around me", I told him and he happily did. I leaned into his side while we stalked out of the castle. I was so close to experience Hogsmead!

"These sweets are so good. I swear to everything that is sugary, chocolate has never tasted this good", I spoke before putting some more of the candy in my mouth. James and I were heading back up to the castle after a whole day in the small little village. It had been really nice to hang out with James on our date. He had brought me to a place where we had drank butter beer. I couldn't remember the name but I had liked the place.
"What is your favorite candy then?", asked James while popping some marshmallow stuff in his mouth. I wondered over the question for a short while before answering.
"If I had to chose something it would probably be anything sour. I just love it, although it can't be too sour", I told him as Hogwarts came closer. We were almost there and I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. The day in Hogsmead had been really amazing and relaxing. When we came back to Hogwarts we would have to go back to our problems. There wasn't much we could do though. I guess I was just happy that we had gotten one day of happiness.

The library was quite, especially since only James and I were there. We weren't even talking to each other. Because of the subject we were researching we were writing everything we wanted to say on the parchment between us.
I think that we could cross out every first year and second year. They don't know enough magic to hurt anyone, James quickly scribbled on the note. His handwriting was so messy that I had trouble reading it. I wasn't one to talk though. After the hour we had spent in the library I was also having trouble with making the words readable.
You're probably right. We can also cross out your family. The person doing this has probably needs someone at home helping them, I answered James. He read my message and nodded in agreement before returning to copying the names of the students at Hogwarts from the book infront of him. I myself was looking up the students who had parents that had been Death Eaters and adding a D next to those students' name. I was also crossing out the names that we knew couldn't have done it. The lists of the students were filling out two parchments and I was working on adding details to the first one.
I think we can cross out some of my friends too. They were alive during the war and I don't think that they could do something like that.
I read the note and felt like replying, but I had no energy to do so. Instead I only nodded and returned to my work. It was taking a lot of energy filling out details on everyone.
We're doing this in the Room of Requirement next time!, I messily wrote on the paper between us. James read it and smiled a little before writing down his agreement.
I stopped writing for a short while and that was when I noticed the darkness outside. We had been sitting up for way too long. At the same time we hadn't sat long enough. I felt a little like we didn't have enough time.
"We need to head back", I told James verbally and motioned towards the window. James looked up and saw the night sky outside.
"I had no idea we had sat this long. Maybe we should have started with our homework earlier", James said and mentioned the homework part only for the possible ears spying on us. Together we started to pack our things. With a small spell, that I didn't hear, James made the parchment we had written on disappear into thin air. Our other things we packed up and then we left the library.
"I'm so tired and my neck hurts. This would have been much simpler with computers", I whined as James and I walked through the corridors. When I stretched out certain body parts I could hear popping, which bothered me.
"A computer?", James asked in confusion. I only sighed, to tired to explain what a computer was.
"I'll show you during the Christmas holiday", I replied tiredly and stopped by the stairs leading down to the dungeon. James also stopped next to me and smiled.
"I'll see you tomorrow", he said and surprisingly he went in for a hug. I hugged him back with my arms around his back. Without thinking I did something that probably surprised the both of us. As I let him go I kissed his cheek. Realization hit fast and before any words could be spoken, I had already disappeared down the stairs. My heart was beating fast because of the thing I had just done. Why had I done it? I hadn't intended to, it had just happened. I just hoped that he didn't mind. Mostly because I hadn't minded it at all.
