Briley

I woke up to the familiar feeling of a blood pressure cup tightening and relaxing around my arm, making me open my eyes, seeing Michael thanks to the light of a small lamp he had turned on.

As I went to move, he stopped me calmly, motioning beside me, making me finally notice Calum, who was sleeping silently, sharing a small portion of my bed with me, which made me smile.

"He rarely sleeps so I certainly didn't want to wake him" michael laughed through a whisper, making me nod in agreement.

I scooted over slowly, hoping to give him more room as I watched Michael set up a few things before handing me a small pill.

"That's todays anxiety pill" he spoke calmly, allowing me to slowly take it, myself trying not to think about anything revolving around surgery, because I knew I would panic.

"Okay, I'm going to start preparing the OR and such, in about thirty minutes I'll be back in the do some last minute prepping with you and then you won't see me again until we are in the OR" he spoke calmly, making me nod.

"You rest up until then" he spoke before leaving the room.

I laid back into the bed, covering myself and Calum back up before I felt him shift, scooted closer to me until our arms touched, where he immediately relaxed again.

I wrapped my hand around his arm, letting my body relax into the bed again

And I went right back to sleep.

I woke up to Calums quiet talking, my hand still gripping his arm.

"I don't think he needs to see her before surgery, yesterday he had her so upset she threw up-" "how am I supposed to explain that to him?" I heard Luke's familiar voice, which made me slowly turn, looking to him standing in the doorway.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to wake you" Luke immediately spoke.

"It's okay" I nodded.

"Ben wants to see me, I assume?" I spoke, looking to Calum as I did.

"Yes- but I don't think it's a good idea-" "I don't either" I mumbled, honestly not wanting to admit it but he did nothing but stress me out and I didn't need that in an already stressful situation.

"Okay, then that's her decision." Calum spoke quietly, searching my face for any expression that could tell him anything.

Luke left shortly after to discuss my decision with Ben.

I stood to go to the bathroom and immediately felt a wave of dizziness, making me grab the bedside table, which made Calum move beside me quicker than ever.

"It's just the medicine, come on I'll walk you to the bathroom." He explained slowly, holding my arms in his hands.

He left me in the bathroom to brush my teeth and prepare myself as much as I could for surgery- which wasn't much.

I soon opened the door, seeing him right where he left me, smiling happily.

He walked me to bed, turning on a movie and sitting with me, talking to me about anything I chose.

Soon Michael came in and told me the basics of what was going to be happening the next few minutes

He drew out arrows and such on my wrist and leg where they were taking the skin and nerve they needed to cover my hand from.

"Okay my girl, I'm giving you just a little more relaxer to knock the rest of the edge off. You might have some more dizziness and such, but Calum will walk you through it, I'll see you in the OR, okay?" He spoke calmly, making me nod.
