Briley.

"It's just an anxiety medicine, it's not going to make you sleepy or anything, it's just going to help you relax." Calum spoke to me as he held the pill in his hand.

I continually told myself that Calum wouldn't lie to me.

Even though my brain wanted me to cry and accuse him of lying to me, because I knew this pill would make me sleepy and most likely out of it.

"Briley I haven't not lied to you from the minute I met you, I promise you- this is just to help you relax." He told me firmly, as if he was reading my mind.

"Okay" I gave in.

I let him place the pill in my hand, which I immediately took with water, feeling the nerves bundled in my stomach.

"Want to watch a movie?" He asked calmly, making me nod slowly.

I watched as he flipped through channels on the hospital tv before picking a movie, smiling once he did.

"This is my all time favorite movie." He grinned, moving to sit beside me in bed.

"What is it?" I asked him, feeling him scoot closer to me as he got comfortable

"Forrest Gump"

We quietly watched the movie together, sharing giggles at the funny parts, Calum even quoting certain phrases throughout the movie.

Soon Luke walked in with Ben behind him, them both focusing to the tv momentarily.

"Do you guys care if Ben joins?" Luke asked, making Calum look to me.

"Sure" I nodded.

Ben.

I sat on the other side of her in the bed, hearing her clear her throat lightly.

"I'll come get you in about thirty minutes because she's on an anxiety medicine so we are going to want her to fall asleep early" Luke told me, making me nod

I wished Calum would leave so we could just have alone time together.

"Calum, you don't have any other patients right now?" I asked calmly.

"No- I'm off" he responded with a smile.

"Oh- not going home?" I asked him.

"No, I stay here to be with you guys." He told me calmly, making me nod.

There goes me and Briley getting to talk without him in the room.

"Is something wrong, Ben?" Calum asked after several moments of us sitting in silent, watching the movie that seemed utterly stupid.

"I just- do you think Briley and I could just have some alone time?" I asked.

I noticed Briley didn't react to what I said, she stayed zoned into the movie.

"She's on a pretty strong medicine right now, Ben- I think it's best that we-" "just give us maybe five minutes." I told him calmly.

I watched him exhale.

"Briley." He spoke, rubbing her shoulder which made her eyes move to him.

"Ben wants to talk to you alone for a few minutes, are you okay with that?"

I almost rolled my eyes at how slowly she responded, but she told him yes.

He left us together, leaving the door open and standing to where I'm sure he could listen to our entire conversation.

She looked to me, her eyes bloodshot and her face looking sleepy, but yet she gave me a lazy smile.

"Do you want to go to bed?" I asked her.

"No" she responded quietly.

"Oh- you just looks sleepy" I told her, seeing her nod slowly.

"I am, but I wait on Calum to go to sleep" she responded slowly.

"Oh" I nodded slowly.

"Well- did they tell you they caught Roy?" I asked her, seeing her nod

"Yeah" she exhaled.

She was being so dry.

"Here- I know your tired, why don't you just lay on my shoulder and rest until Calum gets back?" I asked her, knowing I had seen her do the same thing with Calum.

"I'm okay- you wanted to talk, so I'll stay up so we can talk" she nodded calmly.

"Well- I just- what happened that night in your room?" I asked her.

Her entire demeanor seemed to change.

She looked away from me completely, looking to the tv and completely ignoring me.

"Briley" I felt angry at her ignoring me.

She looked to me.

"I don't talk about it" she responded tiredly.

"Well- I just think I should know so that I understand-" "can you call Calum for me?" I felt instantly angry at her not only ignoring what I was saying but interrupting me.

"No." I spoke firmly.

She looked away from me, immediately picking her hands.

"Just- just talk to me please, Briley" I begged her.

I watched a tear roll down her cheek slowly.

"No don't cry" as I moved my hand to wipe her tear, she flinched away from me making me immediately stand and move away from her as she started crying harder.

"Briley, I didn't mean to scare you" I felt tears come into my eyes as I watched her breakdown over something I did

"Please get Calum" she spoke as she took up quickly, moving to her bathroom.

"I'm sorry Briley I really didn't mean-" "Ben I'm going to be sick- please get Calum" I could hear her sobbing from the bathroom.

I walked out, seeing Calum standing at the nurses station, chatting with Luke.

"What's wrong Ben?" Luke was the first to notice me.

"I made her upset- she said she's getting sick" Calum immediately moved past me and to her

"I really didn't mean to make her upset-" "I know you didn't." Luke nodded calmly.

"Her feelings are just very fragile still and she's still scared and on a high dose of medicine so there's a lot that she's taking in." He told me calmly.

"I'd like to go to bed." I nodded

"Okay- we can do that"
