"You have absolutely nothing to worry about, I'm not leaving you."

And I made sure I wasn't lying to her.

I introduced her and Michael, which she was immediately shy towards, but I knew as long as I was there, she was going to be okay.

We brought her to an exam room where he took her vitals as I held her hands, assuring her that everything was okay.

She was surprisingly calm, not even crying, just answering questions quietly and holding my hand firmly.

"Okay- let's look at this hand" michael spoke, pulling his chair closer to her as he started unwrapping the hand that she told us was held to the stove top while on.

I immediately knew it wasn't good.

Michael didn't speak, but he also didn't touch it, he just looked.

"Does it hurt?" He asked quietly.

We were both shocked when she told us no.

"You can even touch it- it really doesn't hurt." She tried to tell us, letting us know, it was really bad.

She definitely needed surgery, but we both had a silent agreement that we didn't need to trouble her with that right now.

"I'm going to start her on an antibiotic and we will wrap this back up and make sure it's clean and make more of a game plan about this once we have everything else covered." Michael spoke more to me, but told her just enough to make sure not worry.

He gave her an antibiotic that we made her take by mouth before checked the rest of her vitals and doing just an overall wellness check for anything else she may not have mentioned.

"Do you want to tell a michael about what you told me?" I asked her calmly, pushing hair behind her ear.

"No" she spoke quickly, knowing exactly what I was talking about.

"Do you want me to talk to him without you in the room-" "I told you I didn't want to do anything about that." She spoke firmly, making Michael more than curious.

"Angel, that isn't something we just can't do anything about." I told her, but she already knew that.

I saw tears come into her eyes, but she didn't let them fall.

"Go tell him." She mumbled.

Him and I walked out the room.

I recapped what she had told me, making his heart immediately drop.

"No bro- she's a kid, that's her dad." He shook his head firmly.

"I know" I mumbled, nodding as he ran his fingers through his hair in a fast motion.

"Don't let your emotions show, because if you do, she's going to get even more upset and worried- and we don't need that." He nodded, knowing I was right.

"Let's go talk to her."

I let her lean into my hold as Michael sat in front of her.

"So when you say that he put something in you, do you know what it was?" He asked her calmly.

"It wasn't- it wasn't him." She mumbled.

"It was really cold- it felt wet, but he had my hands held down, so like- I don't actually know." She mumbled.

"Okay" michael spoke to her.

"Have you had any bleeding since this?" He asked.

"Yeah" she nodded firmly.

"Are you feeling any sudden pain, soreness?" He asked her.

"I'm just uncomfortable." She told us, grilling my hoodie in her hands.

"Uncomfortable from everything that has happened or uncomfortable since just this?" Michael asked.

"Both- but like it's a weird uncomfortable since this has happened." She told him.

"Can you try to explain?" He asked her calmly.

"I just- I can't" I could tell she was getting frustrated.

"It's like- I'm just not normal" I heard her voice crack.

"Okay." He told her, touching her arm gently.

"So I'm going to have to do a pelvic exam on you- just to be sure everything it okay, and we are going to make sure that tampon isn't what's causing you to be uncomfortable." He told her slowly.

She looked straight to me.

"I know" I told her, tucking more hair behind her ears.

"There's nothing else we can do?" She asked.

"I'm so sorry, Briley, this is our only option."

We gave her a choice of being sedated or not, she didn't want to.

Soon she made me stay in the room with her as she undressed, Michael waiting outside with a nurse.

"Okay" she mumbled, telling me she was done, which made me let Michael in.

And as soon as she saw the nurse setting out the instruments, she started crying.

"I changed my mind- I can't do this" she cried out to us.

I held her firmly, promising her that she was okay.

She held me so close to her- as if scared that I was going to leave her.

"Briley- listen" I spoke calmly.

She quietened her cries, focusing to me.

"You are in charge. We need to do this to make sure you are okay, but if you need to go slow- we will do that, if you want to go as fast as possible, we can do that too. You just talk to us throughout the process and everything is going to be okay, you just have to relax-" "can you just please, hold me" she cried out to me.

I didn't even hold her the way she was referring to, I got completely behind her on the bed, pulling her to relax back into my chest.

She immediately held my hands as I put them around her, giving michael a small nod.

"Okay Briley- one step at a time" he told her.

He got her feet positioned and everything ready.

He talked her through every step.

"Okay- you're going to feel something cold touch you, just stay nice and relaxed, you're going to feel some pressure, okay?"

I felt her whole body try to push away from him and into me, making me hold her tighter.

"Calum" she coughed out a cry as he went quiet- I assumed he saw something he didn't like, but neither of us said anything.

"I got you." I told her calmly, squeezing her hands to make her focus to them.

Her head fell back against my chest, making me touch my head to hers, hearing her whine lightly

"Okay Briley, take a deep breath for me"

She did as said without question and once she exhaled, he did something that made her instantly try to shut her knees, the smallest cry coming from her mouth before I felt her body almost instantly relax.

"Got the tampon" he announced.

Shortly after, he helped her out her feet down, praising how good of a job she did.

We both stepped outside to let her change back into her normal clothes and michael was silent, shaking his head lightly.

"No sixteen year old girl should have to be going through what she's going through right now"
