Ben.
"More make up" Roy told Briley for the third time, him making absolute sure all of her bruises were covered for her doctors appointment.
She left without a word, going to apply more.
"If the doctors say anything, we will just say she fell- or something" he shrugged, mixing a whiskey in with his coffee, seeming content.
I nodded in agreement.
"She deserved it." He spoke suddenly, making me look to him without saying anything.
"I know you think she doesn't deserve what I put her through, but she does" he mumbled, glancing to his phone, checking the time.
"I'm going to make damn sure she doesn't end up like your mother."
We were soon all in the car, heading to the hospital that these doctors worked in, Briley staying silent the entire ride.
"Okay" Roy spoke once we parked.
"You don't speak unless given permission, understand?" He spoke to Briley.
"Yes sir" she spoke back.
We walked inside, myself giving her a small hand squeeze to let her know that I was here for her.
We were almost immediately brought into the back where a nurse left us in a small room, leading to an awkward silence.
But thankfully, soon sounded a knock and then the familiar doctor opened the door, the other following closely behind.
"You must be Mr.Gonzales, nice to meet you. I am Doctor Irwin and this is Doctor Hood, we are working together on Briley's case" the first explained, shaking his hand firmly.
"Nice to meet you guys, thanks so much for getting her in so quickly."
Calum.
As Ash and Roy chatted, I moved to Briley, seeing her looking to her shoes.
"Hi" I spoke, seeing her make eye contact with me, just sending me a small smile.
"I'm going to take your vitals, okay? Just blood pressure, pulse, temperature and listen to your heart." I explained, seeing her simply nod.
Maybe she just didn't want to talk today.
I started with her blood pressure, it still being concerningly low.
We all listened as Roy and Ashton spoke about her eating habits, when they noticed there was a problem, what they did to correct it and such.
Briley never spoke.
I got all of her vitals, focusing to her face once I did.
She looked sad.
"You okay?" I asked her, placing my hand on her shoulder gently.
"She's fine." Ben spoke for her, smiling calmly.
I hated this.
But I focused to Ashton.
"Blood pressure is 85 over 60." I told him calmly, seeing him nod.
"So I think we should take some blood, it'll take about an hour but I'll get that ran today so that we can see what's up and then figure out what we need to do to get her back to normal." Ashton smiled, turning his attention more to her.
"Sounds great, do you think we could go grab some lunch while her blood is ran?" Roy asked, making us both immediately nod
"Yeah that should be no problem at all."
I stood close beside her as Ashton prepared the blood draw, washing his hands and putting on gloves before tying the tourniquet and wiping the vein that immediately perked up.
"Small poke, okay?"
She looked away as he did it, exhaling calmly as she did.
As I focused to her, I noticed that she was counting her breathing in her head as she took deep breaths, she had anxiety.
Briley.
I was getting waves of nausea, I was suddenly extremely hot and lightheaded.
I couldn't speak.
I stared to my dad, praying he'd ask me if I was okay.
I took deep breaths, counting to five in my head before releasing it, knowing that made me feel better when I had anxiety attacks.
I suddenly felt Hood's hand gently touch my arm, making both Irwin and I look to him, myself immediately having a dizzy spell as I did.
Ben.
I noticed her quickly look away from Hood and to my dad, as if she needed to say something and right as her mouth opened- her eyes dropped and her body fell forward.
Everyone in the room seemed to panic for a second.
"Okay- okay." Irwin spoke, thankfully catching her and guiding her to lay back in the bed.
She was limp, almost as if she was in a deep sleep.
"Calum, cut off her blood flow for me, we should have enough to run." I heard Irwin speak, making the other doctor move to her arm, taking the needle out.
"Is she okay?" I asked, feeling a bit panicked by how limp she was.
I watched as Irwin quickly checked her eyes with a flash light before grabbing items out of drawers, soon shoving small towels under her shirt and around her neck.
"Her body likely couldn't compensate for the low blood pressure and blood loss- I'm trying to cool her body temperature with cooling rags right now and as soon as her blood level picks back up, she should wake" Irwin spoke, adjusting her body calmly, seeming to genuinely care about how she felt.
"So- it's okay if Ben and I grab lunch?"
