My emotions arrive in waves.
Drudging up silt and sand from the pits of my soul that haven't seen the shoreline in far too long
washing away the foundations to the castle I've been building in the sand
ripping my feet from under me as if the tide had cold cold hands.
I was smiling earlier, the sun beating down on my head
Life was grand with all of the things you had said
But just as the cheerful winds began to chill,
The light and warmth from your tongue grew dimmer, then stilled.
And with the darkness the water began to rise
Do you not see the fear present in my eyes?Say what you mean, and explain it slowly.
Don't speak words you don't mean just to make me feel holy
I am not your goddess, don't worship me as if so
I am not some audience craving a show.
I am just a girl, playing in the sand
Wishing you'd came with a warning when you offered me your hand.
