Dear Earth, Yours I Remain

Have you ever felt the kiss of dew, fresh on your feet as you walk through the fields?

Or listened to the whispers of the wind on a humid summer night?

Have you ever bathed in the warmth the sun provides, or swam in the full moon's light?

I have - each time our lips meet.

Each time your hand holds mine, each time our breathing synchronizes as we lay side by side.

For you are nature in all its beauty, and I am but a poet attempting to convey it.

Although I will never do you justice, my hands shall not rest, my tongue shall not still until I have taken my last breath.

For I have fallen in love with the essence of you, and my soul has at last found its inspiration.
