The last time Remus was on a bus, he was beaming with anticipation with the rest of his pack in search of a bear—It wasn't his first time off-pack lands, but this was the first time he was this deep in the country.
Even passing by the humans in foreign territory, it still misplaced his wolf.
Sage, however, was in a much worse position than himself. Not only was she missing their pups and the pack lines—It also brought unwanted memories of the last time she rode in a bus.
As it was their only transportation from the campsite they were stationed at, back to human civilization to make a proper call. And in the eyes of it all, Remus' heart felt out to hers.
So he took a trick out of Blake's arsenal and used a tablet to distract her, hoping that the endless amount of puppy videos would pass the hours ahead of them.
Though that didn't stop him from glaring daggers at Andrew from across the length of the bus. Not caring that the dozen or so wolves in the vicinity were in the direct line of this teetering anger.
It was only withheld for the moment due to Hayes' immediate growl towards Andrew to sit away. Leaving the issue unsettled and leaving the tension to sweep through the compact bus.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking—" A voice echoed on the speakers throughout, and it caught Sage's attention through the headphones as she shot her attention forward.
"Goddess, damnit, Blake!" Hayes huffed, clearly annoyed by the joke the male was trying to pass over. Boost morale. "Fine. Wolves, this is your Rogue General speaking. We're about ten minutes from the drop-off location." The basic 'get your shit together,' speech, and Sage had looked down in hesitation at her headphones.
"Can I finish my video?"
"Yeah, Munchkin. We have to unpack and set out scouts before we can head out. Finish it up." She sighed in relief, invested in one of the pups that were play fighting with their siblings. And she teased Remus over and over again that she couldn't wait until they have a litter like that.
To what might seem like Remus feeling uncomfortable, his mind could only recall to their activities from last night. And he was hopeful that the goddess could hear his eagerness to fulfill this—When the time is right.
However, Sage had caught a text—One that she squealed in happiness. "Eli and Jules have pup! Daughter!" She cheered, and the rest of the bus that was a part of Crescent Moon followed with supportive howls that filled the compact space around them.
"Did they pick a name yet?" Remus' voice filtered easily through the commotion. She turned to him, her body reacting to his breath so close to her neck. It made her shiver that she couldn't process his question, and of course, the cocky male took a moment to smirk down at his female.
"Everly...Everly Rivers. I think that's perfect." His voice turned husky to seize the opportunity in making his mate shiver with the intention of another tease.
"I like name...It's s-sweet." She croaked, blinking hard to try and cipher through the impending thoughts that continued to plague her. She didn't want to think about her mate in public—Especially when wolves could smell things like arousal.
"Sweet, huh?" A growl ripped through her throat to stop this insane torture. Even if they were in the back of the bus with her father still huffing towards Blake and his playful bout of orders.
She didn't need another lecture about picking a male, not when she was just starting to make progress and speaking with Andrew about being just friends.
