The Snyders were separated between guilty to very guilty. And while Kara had watched her father walk through the portal after giving out his final documented words and signing away his rights and property to his last daughter—He walked into the fiery depths with the others.

As if there was a sense of pride, dying for the cause he committed to.

After they were situated, the judge would return and punish the rest with a mark. A permeant reminder of what the family has done and remained hidden in the shadows.

She was currently sitting with Patricia, her uncle's mate. Who was currently on her bruised knees with her hands clutched together in praying to the Goddess above—Thanking the holy deity that their lives were spared and they could get on with their lives.

But Kara was shivering, not knowing what to do—Her sister, Nana, and now her father?
They were all gone!
She had no one to turn to, not really.
Not when her Nana had made them a cult separate from the pack.

She recalled very early on in her childhood when Kelly would go away for hours, saying she was scouting.

When really, Kara knew firsthand where she was headed.

The Snyders called it the depths, and that mere phrase had caused her to shiver.

It's been hours since they locked them within the basement of the Pack House, and these thoughts were tormenting her just as much as the countless chattering from her family members beside her.

It surprised her, though, that most weren't hateful towards the Alpha couple. Let alone the rest of America, it was those being put to death and facing the worse of their crimes in a true depth that made it seem they were innocent.

Yet Kara knew they were anything but.

Thankfully it wasn't much longer before Yudan returned and shared his usual procedure. That he would be creating a brand to identify this trial, and more would follow if others were named for later involvement.

But the Snyders remained willing, as they knew what was happening just never told.
But Kara held something more, something deeper to share.
Her father and sister were too involved, and she needed to tell someone.
Anyone!

That and her wolf were in absolute panic over the idea of being branded by a burning piece of silver.

One by one they followed out of the cells, but Kara had another idea. While it's been hours, she could still try to tell someone what she knew.
She hardly spoke to anyone about knowledge as they assumed she was blissfully ignorant of what was happening around them, or in this case, under them.

It was easy, leaving the basement as nobody was going to guard a demon and his willfulness to punish those listed. He had his task and no wolf on the premises was going to put themselves to work with such an odd creature.

No, Yudan was not the first Demon that Kara has met. There were a few aligned with the Snyder family, but the Alpha couple had thankfully caught Bako.

From what Kara could remember from the brief times she's met him, he was always too eager to aid their work.
As if he had a vengeance for their kind himself.

With her heart beating out of her chest, she took a clear smell of the air—Trying to decipher who she could go to and tell them everything she knows.

While it might not help at the moment, she was sure it'll help her in the long run. Even if she is desperate to escape the branding.

Another scream escaped the basement, a mother having endured the painful mark of being labeled as guilty for conspiring—Though Kara believed that the she-wolf still felt grateful.
