Sage had watched in pure fixation as Jade made her way down the metal stairs carefully. Neither pup had caught wind of their mother just yet, but Sage had started to shake—Her wolf wanted nothing more to play, to feed them.
She'd never be able to enjoy the beautiful sensation of feeding them ever again.
All the time she missed was in the obvious sequence of seeing Ronan battle out the likes of the metal stairs and walk off towards Harlow with a bright smile.
"Look who it is...Look, sweetheart." This earned both pups' attention and their eyes landed on the fully furred figure, which caused her to remove her bear hat entirely as she went down to her knees.
The tears caught their attention, as did her sniffle.
"Roe?" She let the question simmer for a moment, the bear hat laying gently on the floor. However, it was Rue's impatience that sparked.
"Mama! Mama! Mama's home!" The little girl was a bucket of energy as she squirmed out of Jade's hold and onto the ground, the bumbling of the pup's run caused Sage to open her arms and engulf her little girl into her arms. She couldn't form any words, she couldn't process anything more than silently thanking the goddess that they smelled the same. That they still smelled like pups, and while they had grown in size—Even learning how to properly walk without her, she hadn't missed much more than that.
Ronan looked at the scene in front of him as his eyes widened at the woman that had his sister in a hug. He leaned forward a bit, his pupils began to dilate as it was instinctual for a child to recognize their mother.
While she didn't smell sweet as she once did, the lingering scent remained, and thus—He followed off towards the she-wolf in a rush, tumbling with unsteady feet as she simply scooted Rue off onto her other arm and took in Ronan's embrace.
His face snuggled close and rubbed into the bear fur like they used to, but the pain coursed through Sage as she couldn't stop. It caused Andrew and Remus to inch closer and bend down beside her, joining her on the ground—While Harlow and Hayes joined in soon after.
While Andrew was with Sage for nearly half of her time away from Crescent Moon, it still didn't give him the full story as to what happened in the facility, he never asked.
He knew that the trials were more than anyone could understand around them, yet with the return, she'd be forced to open up all the previous wounds she experienced prior.
She recalled that her breasts cried to feed the pups—Had the pups cried to be fed?
Everyone else had trickled out of the plane, Haylee was holding her son while Drake held onto a very curious-looking Hardin.
Minutes had passed but it was all in silence as Sage's heart started to stitch back together, and neither pup had dared move away. Not when they craved her to come in the middle of the night after waking up from a nightmare.
It was fairly easy to coax her back to the house, but she simply rose to her feet without difficulty into holding the twins in her arms. While Harlow went to go and grab her hat. "This is a nice one for sure." He grinned, and while that caught her attention—Her mind was filled with nothing but her children.
And the brother couldn't be offended.
Both Haylee and Jade had greeted her with a small kiss, but truly Sage was in a trance as she followed the crowd into the cars and sat between her father and brother.
Andrew took the back with Jackson and Grey while Remus took the front and Blake drove. His eyes continued to flicker towards Alpha Hayes as it wasn't the first time he was in contact with Sage's family. He was one of the many who continued the link while Crescent Moon had fallen away when Eli had become Alpha.
