I used to look in the mirror and see,
A monster so hideous I couldn't even stare at directly,
But one day someone gave me the glasses of reality,
I saw what nobody saw in me,
It was my soul, my heart, my mind,
And now I want to pass it on to you all.You may be a sunflower or a lily,
You may be a shrub or a tree,
But nobody will ever give a damn,
About who you are before they shred you to pieces,
You need to have faith in yourself,
Not in someone else, not even me.You swim and swim and swim in the river of life,
You float away like feathers in this great menagerie,
Everyone wants you to be a lovely child then someone's husband or wife,
But you don't need to listen to them, no you're not a tragedy,
Just keep your head up high and from your backs remove the knife,
Bore in your back for ages that went by.So dear reader get ready to steer the wheel,
And take the road that leads to your dreams,
Because whatever the society may reveal,
You should know that you will always gleam,
And you are your own self, that you don't need to steal.
