She is trying to cure some disease you volunteer and she says there's a high death rate. You don't care because you don't care to live

I don't really remember how I heard of this. I think a co-worker told me, or I saw an ad somewhere. All I know is that it was very secretive and I didn't know much about it. But I also didn't care to know about it. I knew the risks and I didn't care what could happen to me.

I walked into the building and followed the girl into some deep part of the building that had a lot of security.

"She will be down in a few minutes" the girl said sitting me down. I didn't really have any emotion about anything happening. What did I have to live for?

The room had a bed, a bunch of medical stuff, computers, and advanced technology.

I don't know how long I was waiting before the girl came in.

"Before we begin anything I need you to sign these papers. You can go over it with your lawyers and then come back" she said handing me a couple papers. "Do you have a pen?" She handed me one and I signed all of them

"I'm sorry are you sure you don't want to look over this with a lawyer? You don't even know what the papers say." "No it's okay. I just want to get started." "If you're sure then that's fine. And you do know the risks? You could die." "Yup all fine. Just want to start as soon as possible."

"Okay. I'll just give you a run down on what I'll be doing. Starting tomorrow you won't be able to eat anything. It's just for one day so don't worry. After that we will start with the treatment. If you have any questions at anytime please ask me. I want you to be as comfortable as possible. You will have to stay here while we are doing this I hope that doesn't cause any problems." "Mhm. That's all fine." "I want to give you one last out. Once we start we can't stop because I won't be able to monitor what happens or what might happen." "Nope I'm all good." "Alright. You'll sleep here for tonight. Tomorrow I will get you all set in a room with a more comfortable bed." I nodded while quietly admiring the way she looked.

I wasn't trying to be creepy about it. There was just not much else to look at. And she was gorgeous. No doubt about it. Also what else was I supposed to look at?

When the tests started it didn't feel too different. At first I did feel a slight difference in my heart beat but the lady fixed it. She said it was nothing major.

She spends a lot of time down here with me. She usually plays a board game or something with me. But she doesn't talk about her life, she doesn't ask about mine either. She never told me her name. It was getting weird just calling her doctor.

"So what's your name" I questioned moving the game piece on the board. "Lena" she responded moving her piece. "I didn't expect you to actually tell me this time." "Well there's only so much we can talk about without getting to know each other. Can I ask you a question now?" "Sure." "Why did you agree to this knowing the risks?" "I don't have anybody. My family could care less about me. There's nothing to live for. Plus this is for good, so if I die, I die with a purpose. You'll be able to be closer to finding a cure hopefully and I would have contributed towards that" I shrugged.

It fell silent as she took in what I said moving her game piece.

"Tell me something else about you. You look like
You have more going on than just being a doctor" I continued changing the topic. "It depends what you want to know." "Is your day job a doctor?" "No I'm a CEO but I am qualified to do this procedure."

Most of the days went like this. Asking questions while playing some stupid game. She ended up getting me a tv for when she wasn't able to entertain me.

I want to say it's been about four months or at least that's what it feels like.

My health started rapidly declining. I didn't really think anything of it. Maybe I had to get worse to get better? But Lena was worried and that freaked me out just a bit.

I couldn't get out of bed without help anymore and it was hard to breath.

Lena was down here messing with stuff in her lab. Probably trying to figure out what went wrong.

I sat up and tried to get out of bed by myself. It turned out more challenging than I thought. I didn't think I was this weak. But I was determined. However, Lena saw me struggling and rushed to help me.

"Here" she said helping me up and supporting me so I could stand. "Sorry I didn't want to bother you but I couldn't lay in the bed anymore." "It's fine let's go for a walk" she said walking with me. I had to walk slower than normal and I'm thankful that she didn't rush me.

We took a few laps and she helped me back into the bed.

"Lena what's wrong? You can tell me I can take it. If I'm gonna die just tell me." "I don't know" she said frustrated "I thought we were getting somewhere. And now we're going backwards. And I know you're ready to die and you've accepted what could happen but I can't let you die. I don't want you to die. It's not even professional of me to continue this experiment with how I feel. I don't see this getting better and I can't let you die."

"Lena you're not supposed to get attached to me" I teased weakly. "I'm scared Y/n. I'm afraid I'm going to have to do something I don't want to." "What do you mean?" "I can't tell what you got sick from. I have to inject you with the disease to see if the cure works. And if it doesn't you have a high chance of dying. It's a very low chance that you'll survive." "I one hundred percent trust you to make whatever decision you need to. You'll know what's best. I told you I'm not worried about dying. Do what you need to." "Yes but I'm worried about you dying. I really like you Y/n. You can't die I won't let you."

"Lena" I said grabbing her hand. "Focus. You can't get your feelings involved right now. Figure out what went wrong and then we will talk about everything else." "You're right I'm sorry." "Now go figure it out" I said with a smile.
