Family

I was out of town right now, which meant that I had to leave my wife, Katie, and my four year old daughter, y/d/n. I was only going to be gone for a couple more days but I just wanted to go home. I was laying in bed about take a nap when my phone starting ringing.

It was a FaceTime call from Katie. I picked up the phone and I was met with y/d/n face.

"Hi mama!" "Hi sweetie what are you doing with mommy's phone?" I said before laughing a little. "Y/d/n!" I heard Katie yell out.

Y/d/n got up and ran towards Katie. "Ah there's my phone" she said. "Who are you on the phone with" she added on. "Mama." "I told you not to call her yet y/d/n." "It's fine Katie. I'm not doing anything right now anyway." "We'll I was going to text to make sure you weren't in a meeting or anything so she didn't interrupt you." "It's alright babe."

"Well y/d/n wanted to tell you what she did at school today." "What did you do sweetie?" "We got in the water today!" She screamed out. "No way! What else did you do?" "I got a pet goat!" "What do you mean you got a goat?" "The people at school got these other people to bring in animals for the day but she only played with the goats. And she thinks that she has one now" Katie said. "Ohhh. I guess we'll have to take her to the zoo when I get back.

"The zoo!" she yelled out again. "Yeah. Do you want to go to the zoo when I get back?" "Yes! When you coming back mama?" "In a few days but I'll see if I can come back earlier." "Okay." "Let me talk to mommy now y/d/n." "Okay. Bye mama. Love you." "Bye honey. Love you too."

"How was your day" I asked Katie when y/d/n gave the phone back. "Good. They let me off set early. What about you?" "I don't know. They have me running around to all these meeting I don't need to be in. My boss literally has me down here for no reason. He let me go early this one time but it's just tiring." "Ask him why you're there then. If he can't tell you then ask him if you can go home. You're his favorite employee anyway so he'll most likely let you go home anyway." "Yeah you're right. I'll ask him later" I said before yawning. "You're tired babe go to sleep." "Why I want to talk to you." "You can talk to me after you wake up. Okay?" "Fine. I love you." "I love you too. Bye." "Bye."

I texted my boss then took a nap. I woke up a couple hours later and checked my phone. My boss said I could leave so I packed my stuff up. The drive back is a couple of hours so I didn't leave until the next day.

I made it home pretty early. Katie was still at work and y/d/n was still at school so I decided to make them dinner.

I was currently cleaning up the dishes when Katie and y/d/n walked through the door.

"Mama's home!" Y/d/n yelled. She ran up to me and hugged my leg. I bent down and picked her up then kissed her cheek. "Hey honey. Are you hungry." I said while placing her down.

"Yes." "Okay. Go sit down I'll get you a plate." "Okay."

"And what about you my love. Are you hungry." I said walking over to Katie and hugging her. "Yeah." "You go sit down too then" I said while walking back to the food. But before I could she pulled me back into a hug.

I pecked her on the lips before saying "Yes babe?" "I'm waiting for my kiss." "Oh" I said while chuckling.

I pulled her closer to me and kissed her lips soft but passionately. It started to get more heated but then y/d/n yelled out "Mama I'm hungry!" I pulled away from Katie and we both started laughing. "Alright I'm coming sweetie!" I yelled back.
