Lena and I met in a very weird circumstance. Every time there was an incident and the ambulance was called I was always the first on the scene.
I actually know quite a lot about her just from our run ins. We got pretty close just from them. So close that we would hang out quite often.
I decided to take a nap but I couldn't really get into my nap because my phone was blowing up.
"What" I said answering it. "Sorry but we need you here. Lena Luthor is specifically requesting you and she looks like she's in really bad shape. She said she won't let anyone check on her but you." "Just send me your location" I groaned.
I switched to the news channel to see that Lena had been in trouble. I had off today and I felt horrible that this happened while I wasn't working.
-------------
I showed up and saw Lena sitting on the curb not letting any of the paramedics touch her. She jumped and flinched at every move towards her."Go check on the other people I'll do this" I said walking up to my coworkers. They walked away and I looked at Lena. She didn't look too well.
"Let me check on you." She got up and followed me to a open truck.
"I'm sorry" she mumbled. "About what?" "You're not in your uniform. You weren't at work I didn't mean to bother you. I just don't trust anyone else to check on me." "It's fine Lena I wasn't doing anything. If I can ask, what happened?" "It was this whole thing with supergirl and my brother." "Again? I'm sorry you keep getting pulled into that." "It's fine."
I finished up what I was doing and helped her out the truck.
"The good thing is it looked worse than it actually was. Where do you plan on going?" "Probably back to the office. I have some things I need to finish up."
"Yeah I though you were gonna say that. You're not going back to your office tonight. You're going home. I'll drop you off there." I said ushering her towards my car.
"Y/n I really don't want to go to my house." "Okay then you can just spend the night at my house."
It wasn't the first time she's spent the night there. There's been multiple times where she would randomly show up, or I would make her come back instead of trying to go back into the place she just almost died in. I've grown accustomed to living on my own and being by myself but I have a soft spot for her. As sad as it was I'd do anything she'd ask me to do without hesitation. I'd drop everything for her.
We got back to my house and I gave her some clothes to change in to.
Out of respect I always slept on the couch and let her have my bed but we always somehow ended up together by the time we woke up.
"Are you hungry" I asked once she walked into the kitchen in the clothes I gave her. "A little" she mumbled. "Here it's not any extravagant meal that you're used to but it's all I had" I said sliding her a plate of leftovers.
She thanked me, beginning to eat the food. "You know I eat normal stuff right? How expensive do you think my taste is" she asked after taking a bite of the food. "I don't know. You're just so put together and neat that I always think you're like so much higher up then everyone else in society." "I appreciate that you think that but I am just like everyone else."
"No you're not" I chuckled. Did she really think she could compare herself to normal people? "What does that mean" she pouted.
"You can't compare yourself to everyone else. You're nothing like them. You're brilliant and beautiful. You are literally the smartest person I know. You have a kindness in your heart that people are too blind to see but it's beautiful. I think you're amazing Lena and you're nothing like anybody else. It's a good thing that you're not like anyone else."
"Do you really think that" she blushed. "Of course I do. I admire everything you do and everything you've been through. You're strong and resilient Lena. If someone else were in your shoes they wouldn't be able to handle anything you've went through. You're amazing Lena."
"Thank you. And I'm sorry that I keep only requesting you to check on me." "At this point I'd be highly offended if you let anyone else check on you."
"I know it's annoying though. I don't want to bother you on your day off. I'm sorry." "Lena you can't predict when someone is going to attack you. And despite the circumstances I like seeing you. I like that I get to exclusively check up on Lena Luthor. You found someone you are comfortable with and I am honored that it's me. I will never complain about being called in if it's you."
"Can I ask you something?" "Of course." "What made you decide to be a paramedic?" "I never wanted to be one actually. Believe it or not I was going to quit before I met you. Oh my gosh that probably sounds bad. I don't enjoy that you get hurt or attacked I just like seeing you. I mean I hate that it's under those circumstances. Ugh it still sounds bad. I like you. I like seeing you that's why I didn't quit. I didn't want to quit and then not see you again."
"Well I don't just ask for you for no reason Y/n. I like you too and I like seeing you. I didn't know you didn't like your job. If you wanted to keep seeing me all you had to do was ask." "Well I would like to take you on a date. I know you're pretty busy with work and stuff but I can wait until you're free." "I will make time for you."
"We can talk about that all tomorrow. You had a stressful day I'm sure you're tired. I don't know how you're not about to pass out right now." "Oh I am. I just like talking to you." "You could've been said something. Go get in my bed I know you're tired."
"Are you coming?" "Well I was gonna clean up real fast and get on the couch." "Come on Y/n. You know I just get up an hour later and tell you to get in the bed so let's just skip me having to do that." "I know I just like to be respectful." "And I appreciate it but I like when you're there with me." "Okay let me finish cleaning up and I will be there."
