Chapter 9

My alarm went off and I looked at the clock and it said 4:00 am. Then I shut my alarm off and I got up and headed out to the barn.

When I got into the barn Erica was siting on the chair and she looked exhausted. "It's my turn" I said to Erica. "Yay!!" She said back to me.

Then I said "is Apollo still okay?" "Yes" she said. Then Erica got up and she headed into the house. After that I sat down into the chair and I look at Apollo.

He was almost asleep and he was still standing up. Then I looked at Clover and Jinx, they were both asleep. Then I set an alarm on my phone for two hours.

I sat back in my chair and my muscles relaxed as I looked at Apollo. I sat in the chair with the blanket on me and I almost fell asleep.

So then I walked around the barn and I filled up the three horses water buckets. After that I gave all three horses more hay, and then I filled up the horses food buckets.

Then I sat back down into my chair and I checked the time on my phone. The time was 4:30 am.

About an hour and a half later I looked at my phone as the timer went off. The time said 6:00 am, "finally." I thought to myself then I headed into the house and up to my room.

Erica was laying on my bed curled up in the right corner. After 5 minutes of calling her name I woke her up by squishing her nose in between my fingers.

Erica opened her eyes as she gasped for air. "What did you do that for?!" Erica said. You wouldn't wake up so that was my last option.

Erica just stared at me blankly. Then she got up and we switched places. After that I watched her leave my room and head down the stairs.

Then I let my head fall down onto my pillow and I set an alarm on my phone. I quickly fell asleep because I was exhausted.

I woke up to Erica poking me in the head. "What?" I said to Erica with my head squished into my pillow. "It's 8:00 am" she said to me.

"Okay" I said. Then I got out of bed and I dragged my feet across the floor as I made my bed.

Then Erica and I both sat down at the end of my bed and we let our eyes close. I woke up and I looked at the clock half asleep.

The clock said 1:00 pm. Then I stood up and I woke Erica up by saying her name. When Erica woke up she said "what time is it?"

"It's 1:00 pm." I told Erica. "Oh" Erica said with a bored expression on get face. Then I said "thank you so so much for helping me watch Apollo."

"No problem" Erica said "I'm just glad that he's okay now." "Me too" I said. Then Erica and I went downstairs and we ate some cereal.

Then Erica went back up to my room and she got dressed into track pants and a sweater. After that Erica came back downstairs.

Then we went into the living room and we both saw my parents sitting on the couch reading. My mom was reading a big novel and my dad was reading the paper as usual.

Then I asked my parents if they could drive Erica home. My mom said that she could drive Erica home. After that my mom took Erica home.

Then I got dressed and I went out to the barn. When I got there I looked right at Apollo. He was still standing but he looked very tired.

Then I took Clover out of her stall and I put her into the paddock. After that I took Jinx out of his stall and then I put him into the paddock with Clover.

After that I went back into the barn and I mucked out Clover's stall. Then I mucked out Jinx's stall. Then I went over to Apollo's stall and I took him out.

Then Apollo and I went into the paddock beside the paddock that Jinx and Clover were in. After that I exercised Apollo's leg for about 10 minutes.

Then I took Apollo back into his stall. Then I went back into my house. When I got into the house I saw my mom going into the bathroom.

"I must not have seen her come home." I thought to myself. Then I went into the living room and I saw my dad siting on the love seat watching tv.

After that I sat down onto the couch and I started watching the tv. I watched tv for about an hour and then I looked at the clock and it said 3:00 pm.

After that I headed upstairs and I had a nice hot bath. After that I got out of the bath and I got dressed into track pants and a short sleeve shirt.

Then I checked the time on my phone and it was 4:00 pm. After that I went back downstairs and my mom said "Lilly can you help with dinner please?"

"Sure" I told my mom. Then I walked over to the stove where my mom was making lasagna. I helped my mom put noodles into the pan and then we put cheese and tomato sauce on top.

We repeated that a few times then I put the pan into the oven. After that I went upstairs and I worked on some math homework. I worked on math homework for about an hour and then I started to work on French homework.

About 2 hours later I heard my mom come up the stairs and then she knocked at the door. "Come in" I said. Then my mom came into my room.

"Dinner is ready" she told me. "Okay" I said. Then my mom left the room and I left behind her. When we got downstairs the table was set and my dad was filling everyone's plates.

I sat down at the table and then both my parents did the same. We ate and talked for about 45 minutes and then I helped clean up.

After I finished cleaning up I looked at the clock and it said 6:50. So then I headed out to the paddock and I took Clover and Jinx out of the paddock, then I put them both back into their stalls.

After that I took Apollo out of his stall and I put him into the paddock to get some fresh air. When I got out of the paddock I watched Apollo circle the fence and move his leg.

"He seems to be using his leg more often" I thought to myself. Then I sat out on the porch and I started to read my book. As I read I tried to watch Apollo to make sure he was okay.

He seemed okay he was moving around slowly and he seemed to be limping less. I read on my porch for over an hour and then I noticed it started to get cold.

It was late April so it usually got kind of cold at night. Then I set my book down on the porch and I walked over to the paddock.

When I got to the paddock I unlocked the gate and I took Apollo out of the paddock. After that Apollo and I went into the barn and I put him back into his stall.

After that I went back into the house and I worked on more homework. By the time I finished my home work it was 9:09 pm.

So I went downstairs and I watched tv with my parents for a while. Then I went upstairs to bed and I fell asleep quickly.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of birds. I yawned and looked at the clock, it said 10:30 am.

I slowly got out of bed and I dragged my feet to my door. When I got into the hallway I saw my mom folding laundry in her room.

I walked past my parents room and my mom said "there are pancakes downstairs and your dad got called into work today."

"Okay" I replied half asleep. Then I went downstairs and I saw a plate of pancakes siting on the counter.

I then went to the fridge and grabbed the syrup and then I grabbed the butter off of the counter beside the fridge.

After that I took a plate from the counter and I put two pancakes onto it. Then I put butter and syrup on both of my pancakes.

After I finished eating I got dressed and I went out to the barn. When I got to the barn I fed and watered all the horses. _________________________________________________________________________________I hope you like this update it's more focused on Lilly and her family.
