Midnight stallion

Chapter 5

After about 15 minutes of riding Clover and leading the stallion beside us we all reached my house when we got there I saw that my parents were home.

So I got off Clover and I tied her and the stallion to the gate of the paddock.

When I went inside I told my parents that I had found the stallion and that I was going to call the vet and see if the vet can come over to treat the stallions leg.

My parents said that they were glad that I had found the stallion. So I called the vet and I asked if he could come over to see the stallion?

I also told him that I knew that It was very short notice. The vet said because it was so important to me that he could come over in about an hour.

So I said "thanks so so very much". The vet said your welcome and he said see you soon.

So after I talked to the vet I asked my dad if he could go take clover's saddle off then put Clover back into her stall, and I asked if he could also brush her for me.

He said "okay I will do that for you." so when my dad went outside and took Clover into the barn I took Jinx out of the paddock and put him back into his stall.

Then I lead the stallion into the paddock and I took the rope off of him. After that I shut and locked the paddock gate and I walked over to the back of the shed and I grabbed both of the buckets that I had left for the stallion the other night.

Then I walked over to the paddock and I opened the door and I put the buckets into the paddock.

When I went into the paddock I saw the stallion pacing back and forth. He looked very uncomfortable so I tried to comfort him by petting his back.

After about 10 minutes of rubbing his back he seemed to relax and stop pacing.

Then the stallion walked over to the hay bucket and he ate some. After that he drank some water out of the bucket and he walked back over towards me.

I was very surprised that he trusted me so much. So when he walked over I started to pet him again.

I heard my name being called and I stopped petting the stallion and I turned around toward my house.

When I turned around to face my house I saw my mom on the porch calling me. So I said "yes mom?" She said "dinner is ready now".

So I walked up to the house and I went inside. All that I could smell was chicken. My mom had made chicken pasta for dinner.

I helped set the table then we all sat down to eat. I ate my food in less than 5 minutes because I wanted to go back outside to see the stallion.

"Slow down Lilly" my mother said. I'm sorry I said to my mom. It's just that I really want to go back and See the stallion. My mom said that she understood.

So I quickly finished my dinner and I went back outside to see the stallion. The stallion looked very relaxed he was just standing in the middle of the paddock looking around.

I heard a car pull up behind me and I turned around to see the vet. Doctor Charles got out of his car and he walked over to the paddock, and said "he's a Beauty." I agree I said.

I heard my parents come out of the house and they both came over to the paddock.

Doctor Charles said that he would have to go into the paddock to look at the stallions leg.

I opened the paddock door and Doctor Charles went into the paddock. The vet walked up to the stallion but the stallion backed away.

After about 5 minutes of the vet trying to get close to the stallion, the vet finally got close enough to touch the stallion.
