Midnight stallion

Chapter 21

I rode Clover for no longer than ten minutes before we got back to Aiden. I was really surprised that Jack had willing followed Clover and I the whole time. I often looked back only to see him calmly following us.

Aiden was a bit farther down the road than when I had left, he spun around in excitement when he heard us coming down the road. He started running towards us and his smile was so big it made me smile too.

"You found him", Aiden exclaimed. I jumped off Clover and I went over to Jack. I watched as Aiden wrapped his arms around Jack's neck and gave him a big hug.

I heard him start talking to Jack and mumbling something about "how could you take off on me like that?!" I walked over to Clover and told her that she was a good girl.

Aiden came over to me and said "thank you so much Lilly." Before I could reply he came towards me and wrapped his arms around me in a big hug. I don't know why but I found myself blushing when he hugged me.

He let go of me looking a little bit embarrassed. I couldn't blame him considering I was still blushing, I just hoped because it was fairly dark out that he couldn't tell. "Your welcome." I said to him.

"Um..." He said. "Where did you find him?" "I went farther down the road and I thought I heard something in the woods so I got off Clover and headed in to see if it was him." "And it was." I said to Aiden.

"Oh okay" he replied. I awkwardly looked at the ground because I didn't know what to say.... How could I forget? I thought to myself.

"Jack has a cut on his side" I blurted out. "Sorry I don't know how I forgot" I told Aiden. He nodded at me and we both started walking over to Jack.

Aiden examined Jack's cut and said "it doesn't seem to bad, I will fix it up when we get home." "Okay" I said, "sounds good."

Aiden walked over to me and said "thanks again Lilly." "No problem." I replied. Then his face changed and he started walking closer to me.

What are you doing? I thought. "You have a cut on your cheek" he said to me. "Oh crap, I forget." "Are you okay?" He asked, seeming a bit worried."

"Yeah, don't worry about it" I told him. "Okay" he said. After a few moments of silence he looked at me and asked "you wouldn't happen to have your cell phone on you?"

"Yeah," I told him remembering that I grabbed it before I left. "Why?" I asked him. "Well..." He said. " I just figured that in case I ever.... you know... lose a horse again maybe ill give you a call?"

"If that's alright?" He said quickly. "S-sure." I said. I don't know why I said yes, but I did and I was just going to go with it.

So I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and let him type in his number. "Here ya go" he said handing me back my phone.

"Well maybe ill see you next time you lose a horse," I joked. He laughed and walked over to Jack and started walking away with him.

"Goodbye Lilly." I heard him say. "Bye" I replied. Then I walked over to Clover got on her back and we took off to god knows where.
