Chapter 16

The bus rolled to a stop in front of our school and I grabbed my back pack. Then Erica did the same and we both stood up together.

When we got off of the bus we walked into school together because we were in the same class this period.

When we got into the school we both went to our lockers to put our bags in and grabbed the books that we needed for first period.

During first period we had a test. "Just what I needed" I thought sarcastically. While I was doing the test I was trying my hardest but I didn't think that I was going to get a very good grade.

All that I could think about was Apollo, I had fallen in love with him but we had to let him go this week. I was almost done the test when a voice came on over the P.A.

Everyone in the class including the teacher stopped working and looked at the P.A. The voice said "Lilly Brown to the office please."

All the eyes that were focused on the P.A turned to look at me. I grabbed my books and I left the classroom and I went to the office.

I had wondered why I was being called to the office, but right now I knew that it wasn't my biggest problem.

When I got to the office the school Counselor was there. To me she always seemed nice but I had never actually been introduced to her.

I knew that her name was Kim. but I didn't know if the students had to call her by her last name. I walked up to the front of the office and I was about to ask why I was paged when I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I turned around and it was Kim. "Come with me" she said. "Okay" I said confused. I followed Kim into her room at the back of the office. She motioned for me to sit down.

I sat down in a chair in her office that had a great big window across from me. Then I watched Kim sit down across from me.

"How are you?" Kim asked me after a minute. "Confused as to why I'm here." I said back. I wasn't in the mood to beat around the bush today.

"Well" Kim said "your mom called and wanted me to talk to you." "Great" I thought in my mind. "Why did my mom want you to talk to me I asked? "

"she said that you were upset and that you were getting bad grades in school because you couldn't focus." Kim said.

"I'm fine!" I said suddenly upset. Who did she think that she was butting into my personal life, and I was very angry that my mom called the school about me when she wouldn't even talk to me this morning.

"I'm leaving" I snapped at Kim. "Wait" Kim said to me, as I was standing up. "why should I?" I said to Kim.

"let's talk." Kim said. "I'm sorry," is said to Kim, "but no!" I walked out of Kim's room and I walked into the office. I had decided that I was leaving school.

I went to the desk at the front of the office and I signed myself out of school. I walked down the hallway to my locker and I grabbed my bag.

Just as I was leaving the school the bell rang telling everyone that the second period was starting. I walked out into the parking lot and I thought about how I was going to get home.

I knew that I wasn't going to walk and I was sure that I wasn't going to call one of my parents so I decided that I would call a cab rather than walking to a bus stop.

so I pulled out my cellphone and I called a cab to come and pick me up. I waited about 5 minutes until my cab came into the school parking lot.

I got into my cab and I told him where I lived. The cab driver took me home in less than 20 minutes. When the cab stopped I paid the driver 20 dollars witch I thought was a crazy amount of money, but I didn't have any choice.
