Midnight stallion

Chapter 10

After I fed and watered the horses I went back into the house. When I got into the house I went upstairs and I saw my mom in her room.

I walked into her room and I said "I am going for a ride, would you like to come with me?" "Yes." She said back to me.

I was surprised because my mom wasn't really an animal person. Then My mom and I went downstairs together and then we went outside to the barn.

When we got into the barn I walked over to Clover's stall and I took her out. Then my mom took Jinx out of his stall and we all went outside of the barn.

After that I tacked up Clover and my mom tacked up Jinx. Then we both mounted the horses and we headed toward the trails.

When we got to the trails my mom said "Lilly we need to talk." "Okay" I said unsure. "Your dad just got a phone call and next week he is heading to training." My mom said to me.

I swear my heart skipped a beat. I tried to form a word, and all that came out was "okay." "Okay" my mom repeated.

As my mom and I were stilling heading straight down the trail I was thinking about what she just said. "Training" I thought in my head, "he will be fine nothing will happen to him," I tried to convince myself.

My thoughts were interrupted by my mom. "Are you okay?" She asked me. "I'm fine" I said way to quickly. But the truth was, I wasn't even close to fine.

After we got back from an hour ride we both rode up to the barn and we both dismounted the horses. After we got off the horses we both took all of their tack off.

Then I asked my mom if she could hose Jinx down. She said "sure." Then my mom hosed Jinx down and after she was done, I did the same to Clover.

Then my mom went back into the hose and I put both Jinx and Clover into the paddock together. After that I took Apollo out of his stall and I walked him around the barn, to exercise his leg.

Then I mucked out Apollo's stall and put him back in it. After that I mucked out Clover's and Jinx's stall. Then I went back inside of the house.

When I got inside of the house I looked at the clock the clock said 12:09. After I looked at the clock I decided that I was going to eat lunch.

So I went to the fridge and I grabbed the marble cheese. Then I grabbed the bread and the butter off of the counter. After that I took a pan out of the cupboard and I set it on the stove.

Then I made a grilled cheese sandwich. Then I cooked my sandwich and I ate it.

The day went by fast after I ate my lunch I watched tv for most of the day. Now I looked at the clock and it said 9:54 pm.

I was siting in between my parents on the couch. We were all watching the news when I said "I'm going to go to bed now."

"Okay" my dad said to me not moving his eyes from the tv screen. "Good night" my mom said to me. I nodded and then I headed up the stairs.

When I got to my room I changed into my pj's and then I laid down on my bed. I fell asleep quick as all my muscles relaxed.

I woke up to my evil alarm. I hit off on the alarm clock and then I got out of bed. The time was 7 am. Then I made my bed and I went into the bathroom.

I had a hot shower to wake myself up and then I got dressed and I grabbed my bag out of my room. After that I went downstairs.

I saw both my parents headed out the front door. "Where are you both going I asked?" "We both have to go to work early" my mom told me, as my dad nodded.

"Oh okay" I said to them. Then my mom said "bye love you." My dad said the same thing to me. Then I said "love you both too."

After my parents left I looked at the clock and it was 7:30 am. Then I took the toaster out of the cupboard and I made some toast with peanut butter and jam.

I took my time eating, so by the time I was done it was 8:00 am. Then I went upstairs and I brushed my teeth. I then went downstairs and I grabbed my keys off of the end table in the living room.

After that I took my bag off of the counter and I went outside onto the porch. Then I locked my front door and I went to the barn to check on Apollo.

When I got to the barn I saw that Apollo was still standing. "Good" I thought to myself. Then I took Apollo out of his stall and I took him to the paddock where I exercised his leg for a few minutes.

When we were done in the paddock I put Apollo back into his stall. Then I headed back towards my porch. When I got to my porch was I in the middle of siting down, when the bus pulled up.

"Go figured," I thought to myself. I then grabbed my bag and walked over to the bus. When I got onto the bus I saw Erica siting near the back of the bus.

She waved for me to go over to her, so I went over to her. When I sat down beside her she said "how's Apollo?" "He seems okay." I told her.

"Good" Erica said. "Yeah I hope everything works out" I said. "The vet is coming over tomorrow." "I'm sure that everything will be fine." Erica told me.

"I hope so I said. Erica nodded. The rest of the bus ride I read my book and I studied. When the bus pulled up to the school I grabbed my things and I got off of the bus with Erica.

When we got into the school we both headed to English class. Erica and I usually had English together once a week.

During English all that I could think about was Apollo. The rest of the day was the same. After school Erica and I walked over to the bus stop together.

When we got to the bus stop we just stood in silence. The silence was broken by the noise of the bus pulling up in front of us, about 5 minutes later.

I was surprised the bus actually came early today. When Erica and I got onto the bus we sat down together near the front of the bus.

"How are you?" Erica said to me. "I'm okay" I said back. "Good" Erica said. 15 minutes later the bus pulled up to my house. I said "bye" to Erica, then I got off of the bus.

As I walked up to my front door I saw that both of my parents were home. When I got into the house my mom was in the living room watching tv, and my dad was reading the newspaper at the table.

"Hello" my dad said to me "hi" I said back. As I was heading up the stairs my mom said "dinner is at 5:30 tonight." "Okay" I said back.

Then I went into my room. When I got to my room I set my bag down at the foot of my bed and I flopped down onto my bed.

I tried to fight my eyes closing, but finally I gave in and I fell asleep. "Lilly!" "Lilly!" I opened my eyes and I saw my mom standing over top of my bed.

"You fell asleep?" My mom said to me. "I guess so" I said still half asleep. "Dinner is ready now" my mom told me. "okay" I said "I will be down in a minute."

I watched as my mom exited my room. I laid on my bed try not to fall asleep again. Then I went down stairs for dinner. _________________________________________________________________________________ Sorry everyone I know that this chapter is short.
