Ramona walked onto the empty lot, surrounded by construction workers who were setting up work benches. Machinery was being driven to the lot while Dwight spoke with Mr. Giovanni about ten feet away.
"So here are the blue prints here. Completely scratch that first version I brought to you before, okay? This is the final print." She said. "Yes, ma'am." Said the worker, nodding. "So as you can see the space isn't that large, but we've been given an eight month time frame anyway. So, as you always are, just be precise. And for the entrance here, he wants a walk way. so I'll mark that here so that it isn't missed." She said, removing the white inked pen from behind her ear and marking it on the page.
"Alright then, Ms. Davis. We'll get started right away." Said the construction worker. "Alright, good. Let me know if there are any questions." She said, then walking away.
She walked towards Dwight and Mr. Giovanni, watching the two men laughing together then shaking hands afterwards. "Sorry to interrupt, but my construction worker is ready to meet you whenever you're ready. He has the blueprints, now." She said. Mr. Giovanni nodded. "Oh, good! I'm extremely excited about this, Ms. Davis. You have no idea. Thank you both for the opportunity." He said, then smiling before walking away.
It was just she and Dwight left. Over the past month, she managed to let the night they shared together fade away enough for it to no longer bother her. She could manage with it as long as he allowed her to help him when it started healing. But she swore she'd never do it again.
By now, she was sure that they were on a "situation-ship" status. even though she felt as if it could have been more than that, they haven't had that talk yet. To be frank, it wasn't on her mind as often as her work was. As long as things were going well, there was always time to talk about it. Thankfully, nothing has changed negatively between them.
Dwight looked at the site in satisfaction. He stuffed his hands into his pockets. "This looks really promising. I can tell that this restaurant is going to be a hell of an attraction. And it's going to make me a lot of money." He said, and Ramona shook her head at him. "Well, I guess we both have our separate goals with this project." She said.
"We really do make a great team. Hopefully if all goes well we can work together again in the future. If I end up buying a hotel lot, I'll make sure the renter offers you at least an 18 month time frame." He said, making Ramona chuckle.
"Perhaps...If all goes well..." She said, staring up at him. He stared back at her, then looking away. "So..." She said, walking to the other side of him. He watched her as she did so. "There is something I want to talk to you about." She said, and Dwight looked directly at her quickly. "Why are you tensing up...?" She asked. "Sorry, I guess I'm hoping it's nothing bad.." He said. "Well, that depends on how you perceive it." She said.
I'll give you a choice. Either we talk about it at my place or elsewhere." She said. "I...I thought you said we needed to be professional at work?" He said. "You don't know wether it's work related or not." she said, staring at him with strong eyes. "But that point is true, so we'll hold off on it until later." She said, then walking away.
Dwight watched her, feeling his heart racing. He felt so nervous. She looked over her shoulder at him for a moment. He couldn't think for too long, because that's when one of his employees walked up to him.
