Friday February 10th, Night time

"Remind me why I'm awake at 2 in the morning" Raven asked as she followed Wednesday to god knows where.

"Because I need to show you something" Wednesday responded as she continued to lead the way down to the patio.

"Right, right" Raven picked up her pace to be able to walk alongside Wednesday "now can you remind me why did I oblige?" She asked even more sarcastically. Wednesday didn't respond, instead she turned a sharp corner to be met by the statue of Edgar Allan Poe.

"This statue has something out of the ordinary" Wednesday said as she pointed her flashlight at it.
"It's the entrance to the Nightshades library" Raven said nonchalantly, catching Wednesday's undivided attention.

"You know about this statue?" She asked her cousins. "Wednesday, when I first came here I had literally no friends and a passion for riddles" Raven looked at her cousin's perplexed features "Riddles?" Raven nodded "inside Poe's book" she stated.

Wednesday inched closer to the statue and indeed noticed the writings engraved in the bronze book. "I would tell you the answer...but I know how much you love riddles" She smirked to which Wednesday smirked back. She took her notebook and pen, and began to write.

"The opposite of moon." Sun. "A world between ours." Nether. "Two months before June." April. "A self-seeding flower." Pansy. "One more than one." Two. "Its leaves weep to the ground." Willow. "It melts in the sun." Ice. "Its beginning and end is never found." Circle. "Every rule has one." Exception

"The answer will give a sharp cracking sound" Wednesday said as she read the answer. "You ready?" Raven asked as she held her middle and index finger pressed to her thumb. Wednesday smirked even wider "ready" *Snap* *Snap*
The statue moved to the side revealing a long staircase that led to darkness.

"Shall we" Raven asked Wednesday who kept her eyes glued to the darkness "We shall"

As they made their way downstairs, everything began to clear up. Wednesday could clearly see the details that adorned the circular library. She could also clearly make out the faces of her parents depicted in a photograph. "Aunt Morticia looks so young there" Raven observed, although Wednesday was busy looking at another picture. "Isn't this your mother? Aunt Matilda?" Wednesday asked as she picked the picture off the wall.

"let me see that" she took the picture out of Wednesday's hands. A blonde woman stood there with the cheesiest fakest smile. Raven looked deeply at the picture "Huh..." she let the picture drop and fiercely stepped on it until the glass was cracked and the picture was wrinkled. She picked it back up and gave it another look "I don't know, maybe" she answered Wednesday sarcastically as she tossed the picture to the side.

"...And I thought I had parental issues" Wednesday said humorously. "So what are we looking for exactly?" Raven asked changing the topic "the same purple book?" Wednesday gave a nod and proceeded to scan every diary that was present on the shelf.

"You know....you'll realize uncle Fester is actually decent once you get to know him...and he might be more willing to open up once he gets to know you" Wednesday said breaking the silence.
"I don't doubt that" Raven answered sarcastically while still looking for the book "but he never wanted to get to know me, so you're logic is a bit flawed there" she ended dryly.

"I guess it is in our DNA to have parental issues" Wednesday said which made Raven's blood boil, she finally had enough.
"No Wednesday...your parents love and care for your every waking moment. They sent Thing to make sure that you would be okay in a perfectly safe environment, they always made sure you had access to the finest education and the finest things. You are simply mad because your mother has always been great to you, and such wonderful parental relationships doesn't exactly match with most of your beloved authors" "excuse me-" "I'm not done" Raven interrupted "you are mad because when you truly think about it you have absolutely nothing to complain about! And you are the biggest complainer I've ever met Wednesday!" She began to raise her voice "do you know what i'd give for my parents to even acknowledge my existence?! Do you know how many times either of them paid me any visit during the six years that I've been locked in this fucking slump?!" Wednesday stayed quiet.

Although the conversation being of a very emotional nature, and her voice being a few notches louder, Raven's face didn't lose its composure...not even for a second "None...not even once...six years of not having anybody that cared to have me home for summer or Christmas or any other holiday.... And here you are, with a mother that loves you and would tear her eyeballs out for you, going around playing the victim child with a complex" Wednesday once again stayed quiet, her cheeks red "I would kill for Morticia and Gomez Addams to be my parents...instead I'm stuck with Fester Addams and Matilda Gooseman which I haven't seen in over 12 years" Raven wiped a single tear that rolled down her face as she continued to scan the books on the shelves "So don't play the mistreated child bullshit act, Wednesday... not with me" she concluded as Wednesday's stare still looked down flustered, not knowing what to say.

They spent the remaining of the time in silence, desperately trying to find the book. "Found it" Wednesday whispered and Raven inched closer. "This is the book of your vision?" She asked to make sure, Wednesday simply nodded. She packed the book in her backpack, but before either of them could move a single step forward, the room went dark. It was clear a bag was placed on both their heads for optimal disorientation.... luckily they were Addams...they're not afraid of the dark.
