before i get started. im going to give you all details about janet.

Janet is 32 years old, She's bisexual. She doesn't have any kids. Her family died in a shooting. She's a lawyer and likes to volunteer at the jailhouse every Wednesday & Thursday. okay now let's begin.

At the office.

"Janet did you get any news from Jacob's mom?" Her friend Gil asked.

"No I haven't. She really doesn't want to have anything to do with him." I shook my head. "But I did manage to get security footage from his house, and this should be enough evidence to prove that he's not guilty. " I smiled and Gil clapped his hands.

"I knew it! But it's such a shame that his own cousin would accuse him of raping her. Now his whole entire family hates him. Hopefully you can win this case and make his life better J." Gil said and I scratched my chin.

"Yea. Hey Gil? Did you hear about the new Toni Braxton case. She was sent to Jail for murdering hmm Rene Elizondo. They say it was a very brutal kill. But they never found the body. She's waiting to go to court." Gil nodded.

"Yea it's been all over the radio. It's a big case...I feel bad for whoever is gonna be her lawyer." I shrugged.

"You know she's gonna be at that jail I always volunteer at. And she's in the program." Gil gasped "Spiritual ay? That's good. Or maybe it's a cover." I shrugged again.

"Where's Hoey Joey?" I asked and Gil laughed. "That's a perfect name for his ass because he being a hoe right now. He's in Christopher's office." I giggled. "That boy is a mess."

"Janet!" Our boss screamed for his room.

I sighed

"Coming Sir!" I yelled back.

I made my way to his office. Trying to prepare for his bullshit.

"Yes sir?" I asked as I watched him flip through papers. "Janet I know I don't usually compliment you. But you are the best lawyer I know. And I'm giving you Toni Braxton's case." I gasped.

"Sir I don't think I should do this. Maybe you should give it to Gil or Tyra!" he shook his head.

"Janet that's your problem. Your always doubting yourself. You can do this! And you are taking this case. There is no backing out. So do your best." He handed me the case.

I walked away with so much on my mind. Everybody was staring at me. I guess they knew I got the case that they all wanted. And I didn't want it at all.

I walked back over to Gil and his eyes widened.

"Damn you got the case."

I groaned.

"Yes! And I don't want it at all! I have to meet with her tomorrow." He thought for a second.

"If anybody can prove that's she's innocent it's you J. You an amazing lawyer." gil said

"But what if she isn't innocent. And she really did kill that man? I wouldn't want to defend that." I said and Gil shrugged.

"Up to you to find out Janet."

At her apartment.

I've been up all day looking for info on Braxton. Everything I came across doesn't seem bad at all. She goes to church every Sunday and Thursday. She doesn't have a record. And her mom is Evelyn Braxton. WAIT? THEE EVELYN BRAXTON?" Before my mother passed she always played her music! She's an amazing singer. Wow that's amazing.

But they seem like sweet people. Something isn't adding up. This case just got way more interesting.

Hmm I scrolled on her instagram page. And I'm just now realizing how attractive she is. She's definitely a stud. But I came across a picture that definitely caught my eye. It was Toni at the beach...it looked like she had- never mind. I-I digress.

"Oh she has a girlfriend. Maybe I can get in contact with her." I said to myself

I got my phone and called Gil.

"Gil? Do you think you can get a phone number on Jada Pinkett?" I ask

"Yea girl I got you! Is that all?"

"Yea that's it. Call me when you get that number." I hung up.

1 am.

I've been up all night studying this case. I'm tired as hell. But I'm just determined to figure out the truth behind this case.

I decided to look at some more info on Jada.

She seemed to be very in love with Toni. It's nothing but them on her page.

I kept scrolling until finally I saw a picture of Jada and this man at the bottom of her page. Is that? Wait? That's Rene Elizondo.

"What the hell! Now that was a gigantic plot twist. Now I'm eager to talk to Braxton."

now this chapter is short, but i don't wanna spill too much in this one.
