The next day.

I jogged into the office looking for Gil to tell him about the information I seen last night. Well instead I ran into Hoey Joey.

"Why you in a rush Jan?"

"I'm looking for Gil. Have you seen him?" I ask and he nodded.

"Yea he's over there talking to Tyra."

"Thank you." I rushed over there. "Gil. Not to interrupt but I need to borrow him." I pulled his arm.

"Do you Jada's number?" I asked.

"Yea here it is." He called out the number as I wrote it down on my notebook. "Okay well before I go to talk to Ms Braxton. I have to fill you in on what I found out." He sat down.

"So last night. I was digging for information. Like really deep. Anyways you know the song I always sing. And I never tell you the artist? Well the artist is Evelyn Braxton. She's Toni's mom. I know Evelyn because my mom always played her music. So she has a shit loud of money! She could get out of jail right now if she wanted too. But why isn't she saving herself? Anyways I was scrolling on Toni's girlfriend page. And she has about 3K posts. So it took awhile because I scanned every one of them. Anyways at the very bottom it was a picture of Jada & no other than Rene Elizondo!" Gil's mouth hung open.

"I had the same reaction! I'm eager to hear what Braxton has to say." Gil looked at the time. "Yea and it's about time for you to go and meet her ." He said and I gasped.

"Your right!" I shot up and grabbed my bag. "See you later love bug! I'll make sure to fill you in." I rushed out.

At the Jailhouse.

I sat patiently waiting on Toni. Finally she was brought in.

Once she sat down and the guard was out the room. She spoke.

"I want to plead guilty. And I wanna be stationed somewhere close to my mom." My eyes widened.

"Wait no! Why do you want to plead guilty? Ms Braxton?" Did you do it?" I asked and she looked away from me.

"Toni if you didn't do...I can fight for you. I'm the best lawyer at my firm. Toni please at least tell me what happened." I asked and she sighed.

"I can tell you what happened...but I can't guarantee that I'm going to change my mind."

I met her at a Bar . 5 years ago. And she was amazing. The only problem is she had a boyfriend. And he was Rene. Now Jada told me that he was abusive and she was planning to leave him.

"Toni don't worry baby. I love you and only you." She said to me.

And I had never met Rene. I only seen pictures of him. Anyways one night Jada came to me...and she told me that her and Rene had a really bad fight. She came to my house with bruises and scars. It was horrible. And I knew I had to save her from that. Anyways that night she stayed with me. And the next day we had sex. Sex just made everything more complicated.

So anyways Jada invited me to her house. And this was my first time going. And this moment I forgot all about Rene. And he so happened to be there. That night Jada broke up with Rene.

Finally she was free. That's all I ever wanted for her. So 3 months later...we got engaged. And then 5 months after that we got married.

"I was married to her...and uh I don't wanna talk about this anymore." Toni stopped

"Wait Ms Braxton? What's wrong?" I asked. A tear fell from her eye but she quickly wiped it away.

"I said I don't wanna talk about it anymore! Guard!" She yelled. She tried to stand up but with the cuffs on she couldn't.

"And for you Ms. I want to plead guilty." She said and then the guard walked in.

And right before she left. I said.

"And I will do whatever to find out the truth." I shouted from behind her.

I left the jailhouse with so many thoughts in my mind. Toni seemed so numb...my god.

When I got home I decided to call Jada. I need to meet up with her. Maybe she'd know why Toni didn't wanna share the rest of her story. I also wonder why I couldn't find any records of them being legally married.

"Hello is this Jada Pinkett?" I ask and she sighed. "This is she. Is this about Toni?" She asked. "Yea it is. This Janet Jackson. Toni's laywer. And I'm wondering if you know anything about what might of happened. Is it okay if i can schedule a day to meet with you?" She sighed again. "Yes Uhm what about this Friday. At 2?"she asked. "Yep that's fine. See ya then." I said before hanging up.
