Ugh Billy woke up being so grumpy today, I think it's about Max. Chicken shit. Sitting on the porch swing as I'm waiting for Steve to come. Billy walks out with a cigarette in hand, putting his shades down. I didn't dare say anything to him right away. Then waking over he sat next to me. "Where's Harrington?"

"I don't know Hargrove." I looked at my dress and then the gate to our house.

Blowing out the smoke away from me. "Do you mind if you go with Steve and Laurie today? I have some phone calls that I need to make."

Phone calls? With who? I nod. "Sure. And then Steve can drop me off at Max's and Susan's house."

He grunts as Billy rolled his eyes. "Will you call me when you are ready to go home?"

"No. Steve has to come back and get me."

"You know he's not a taxi service right?" Being so cranky with me.

"No, he's not. Steve has some errands to run and they are close by to them so way call you to come get me, when I can tell Steve to come back in a hour or so to take me back?" Billy think.

Licking his lips, then standing up as he struts away. "Love you." Opening the door as he walked into the house.

"Love you too." I mutter this part. "Asshole." Steve came just in time as I got up and took the stairs.

Steve got out of the car and opened the door. Which is so sweet. But not for me in a away. You know. If I was his girlfriend and not raised to be his sister or being his cousin, you know I might consider him.

Since he is all those things. Hell no! At court there was Karen Wheeler, she's being called in? Why?

Sitting on the chair as she is being sworn in. The lawyer for my side asked. "When was it that you first noticed Victoria's behavior changing?"

Gulping as she scrunched up her skirt. "Around age ten. Or maybe six." Shaking her head.

"Well which is it?"

"Six I do believe." Her thoughts must kicked in. I guess.

Nodding his head as he walked to her. "What did she do that made you noticed?"

"My husband, you see. He just spoke to her and said hi." She saw me in the room, her eyes and my eyes locked, for a moment. "Victoria jumped, screamed, and hid for some time." To gather more thoughts, she said this. "When I found her, I got her to come out of the shed and I offered to braid her hair. That used to calm myself and my two other daughter right down." Licking her lips again. "As I was braiding her hair. I noticed marks and bruising, that made me worry for her safety. I've seen how her father treats her. So I called up her grandfather to talk to her. Next thing that I know I see Aston in the news for harming his daughter."

"May I ask how well did you know her parents?"

"I.. I didn't know them very well. I met her mother a couple of times, with Joyce Byers. The mother seemed very nice and so caring to other children. When I heard that she passed my heart went out for the whole family."

"Name a time that Aston was hurting Victoria?"

"At a store, she asked for some cookies, Aston called her a fatty and smacked her. Aston thought no one was watching. But I also thought that maybe something had happened the earlier and that he had enough. Should he had hit her? No. Discipline can be done in so many ways. Not hitting your child or worse selling them for...for.." Karen whispered this. "Sex." The mic caught.

I looked away from her. God everyone noticed in this fucking town that something was going on and no one did anything about it. Aston later asked her questions too. That didn't make sense. But one did.
