The bed was undeniably warm, every inch of my body comfortably resting on the cloud-like mattress. Who knew you could find such high-quality sleep in the middle of nowhere? The air was nearly silent, the quiet exhales of my temporary roommate softly tickling my ears. Kujo wasn't anywhere near me, yet he was so close. He was practically invisible in the black of the night, yet I could smell his pleasant scent so clearly. It was so sweet and relaxing like a sedative for my usually racing mind.
It all made me wonder why I had felt the way I so obviously felt. I wasn't an idiot, no matter how many times Kujo claimed I was. I knew this feeling, the racing of my heart in such an unfamiliar way... I knew what it meant. But why Kujo? Why my rival? I should've detested him and hated his every breath simply because he was stronger than me. I wasn't like Hiroshi. I couldn't stand the fact that he could beat me. That he had beaten me.
"Jotaro..." I purred suddenly, my voice amounting to less than a whisper. His name from my own little lips sounded strange. He had said my own name earlier. When I wasn't responding to him, he had called my first name; I'd heard it but hadn't realized it then. "Jotaro," I muttered, my voice now loud enough to reach his ears. He hummed in response against his pillow, his legs shuffling only slightly in his sleepy state. "I'll call you that from now on."
"Okay," he mumbled, pushing his face exhaustingly against his pillow. His cap shifted loosely on his messy blackness, simply sitting atop the disheveled fluff.
"You didn't take your cap off," I informed, turning my head to more comfortably look at the man beside me. "Isn't it uncomfortable?"
"No," he grumbled, shifting once again in annoyance. "It's warm and blocks the sunlight."
I nodded, looking out the window at the night sky with eyes that could hardly stay open. "Hey... Jotaro," I mumbled, closing them for a long moment. I felt myself drifting off to sleep, but there was one thing bothering me. I couldn't shake it off no matter how long a day I'd had. "My feet are cold."
He didn't shift this time. He was completely silent; even his breathing seemed to pause dramatically. I rolled my eyes with a small huff of a laugh. "Can I put them between your legs? It won't be that bothersome."
He turned his body over so that his face was just over a foot away from mine. He probably glared at me for asking such an annoying question, but I simply smiled. My feet were cold. Like really cold, and my socks were way too thin for the bitter air.
"Fine," he finally responded, closing his laser eyes without another word. I quickly scooted closer to him, afraid he would change his mind about the odd subject. I squished my feet between his calves and smiled comfortably at the immediate warmth.
"Jotaro...?" I began once again. He didn't respond.
Before the next few words could escape my annoying lips, I thought quite hard about them. I knew what they would imply, and... I wanted him to know too. I wanted him to realize how someone who'd been my greatest rival only days before... was now someone who'd made my heart flutter by simply breathing. But also... he needed to know it was purely because of instinct. Instinct alone.
"My lips are cold."
His eyes opened so slowly and agonizingly until they stared directly into my e/c orbs silently. They said absolutely nothing amid the cold night air. What was he thinking? Was he disgusted by my proclamation?
His finger lifted my chin only slightly so that our features were aligned. Only inches away, he was thinking the same thing I was... right? Did he want to kiss me? Or was he only obliging to shut me up for the night? He leaned closer to me. I could barely see him move, and I could only wait so impatiently for him.
The most gentle thing caressed my lips then. So softly did we connect as the moonlight lit his features for me to see. His cheeks were tinted a subtle pink hue, matching my own as he pressed his lips so lightly against mine. I wanted more, yet I was so sleepy. I simply relaxed against the wholesome pleasure comfortably.
"It's bound to happen," he whispered, his warm breath tickling my skin as he released his gentle hold on me. "You might've complained if your first kiss was taken by an animal... rather than a human."
"No," I mumbled, feeling my sleepiness take me slowly as I objected his oblivious words. "I don't care about that. I just... wanted to kiss you."
