CHAPTER 48: SOMETHING IMPORTANT

Aziel's POV

“They're inside, Mr. Arne.” I nodded at my secretary when she motioned her hand, pointing at my office, pertaining that the reason why I left the hotel so early is there.

It's already 7:30 in the morning, I received a call from my secretary, telling me that there's someone who wants to talk to me. I'm ready to decline its request but when he said the guest's name, I have no choice but to get up and get my ass here, on my office.

Zahra was still sleeping when I left. The twins are already awake when I came out on my room. Quincy, as usual, is glaring at me, demanding for her breakfast. I just called the hotel staff to get the breakfast here. I made a reservation for Zahra's breakfast because I think, she'll wake up late.

I heaved a deep sigh before entering my office. They both stood up when they saw me. They're both seating on my couch.

“Good morning,” I used my casual tone as if I'm just doing some business meeting.

“Nasaan si Zahra?” I smiled a little bit.

“She's still in the hotel, Tito. She's still sleeping when I left.” I said before I sat down on single sofa. They both seated too.

“Sigurado ka bang ligtas ang anak namin don?” Tita Alessia asked. I nodded my head as a response.

I heard Tito Owen scoffed. “Kaya pala pamilyar ka. I thought, you just have the same name as Anthony's son, pero ikaw pala talaga 'yon.”

I pursed my lips and lowered my gaze. They probably saw the event last night because it was broadcast on national television and made them come here in an instant.

“Kung nakilala lang kita agad, matagal ko nang pinalayo ang anak ko sa'yo.” he said with deplore on his tone. I just looked down. I have nothing to say. They're Zahra's parents, and I can't defy them that easily.

When Zahra was born, I was five years old that time. They came back here in the Philippines to hide Zahra from the danger she might face while growing up. That was the time when my parents sent me to boarding school in Netherlands to study and train for combat fights.

My father and Zahra's parents were close. They were part of this certain group that serves the King. But after the King was replaced, Zahra's parents left that group. Tito Owen were appointed to the current King's Knight. But they left the Netherlands also when Zahra became eighteen. That year was the most crucial and risky because we have to do something in order to freed ourselves from the current King's hand.

“Anong plano mo?” my gaze hoisted at Tito Owen.

“Still figuring out, Tito.” I answered in a low voice. I cannot tell them my plan. Only my parents and I knows about it to prevent the threats on other people's lives.

“Puta? Tapos nasa sa'yo pa ang anak ko. Ipapahamak mo ba s'ya?!” his voice echoed the whole room. He stood up and looked at me angrily. I pursed my lips.

“No.”

“Ano ba, Owen? Kumalma ka nga.” Tita held his husband's hand and pulled him to sit again.

“Kumalma?” he looked at his wife. “Tangina. Kaya nga natin iniuwi si Zahra para wala na s'yang koneksyon sa kaputahan ng Hari ng bansang pinaggalingan natin!” he looked at me again. “At bumalik pa 'to para ipahamak s'ya!”

“I swear, Tito. I didn't know her either.”

“Hindi mo kilala?” he laughed sarcastically. “At sinong niloko mo? Nakilala mo s'ya noong ginawa natin ang utos ng magaling na Hari ngayon.” he trailed off. “Tell me, Aziel. Anong balak mo sa anak ko? Gagawin mong shield? Gagamitin mo at ang sertipiko ng kasal n'yo? Sabihin mo.”
