Y/n felt a small nudge at her side, followed by a few pokes on her shoulder and a soft voice she swears was calling her name.
"Hmm?" She groggily opened her eyes, only to widen them when they were met with Jimin crouching beside her bed.
"Can we talk a bit?" His voice was just above a whisper and Y/n nodded immediately. This was the first time Jimin had shown any interest in her that didn't seem to stem from annoyance, or anger. She was nervous but had a good feeling about this.
Maybe he was finally willing to open up a bit and trust her for once, after all the time she'd spent with him and his pack she felt like she'd kinda earned the right by now, of his friendship.Y/n sat up on the bed, Jimin standing fully and nodding his head to her door. Understanding, she stood up and followed him out to the livingroom.
Both of them taking seats beside eachother on the couch while Y/n waited for Jimin to speak; fiddling her fingers in anticipation."I wanted to talk a bit if that's alright.." Jimin started, feeling slightly nervous.
Y/n nodded, motioning him to continue more. Did he really think she'd be opposed? Jimin was one of the first hybrids she saw who'd caught her eye.
She aspired for his friendship and trust."I've been trying to understand you, the way you act- the way you've treated us this entire time. I just can't get my head around it." He leaned back into the couch, a hand brushing through his hair at his built up frustrations.
"I've treated you with basic respect Jimin, everyone is entitled to it." Y/n shrugged, stating it like Jimin should already know this.
"Then explain the gifts? The blankets, the personalized plushies, throwing Hoseok a birthday party? That's not basic respect."
He was right.Y/n wanted to impress them, wanted to spoil them. Wanted them to have something that made them happy and they could keep as a memory of their time here if or when they left.
She wanted them to think of her fondly.
She wanted them to understand their worth."No. It's not.." she stated agreeing with Jimin.
"But I wanted to do those things. And it made me happy." She smiled again at him.
Made her happy? How could spending money on them without a justification make someone happy?
He looked at her confused, lost in the questions racing through his head."Ok.. Take Yoongi for example! Seeing him always wrapped up in his blanket makes me happy because he's using it." She tried explaining, sharing her thoughts with the fox.
"He likes the blanket so much he's practically always wrapped up in it.. that's also a main reason I wanted to gift you all the specific toys- although Namjoon did help me pick them out."
Jimin closed his eyes, wondering how Y/n would react if she knew the truth.
That the main reason Yoongi paraded his blanket around everywhere was because he was preparing himself for when she took it back. He loved it, but he was counting down his days left with the sweet gift."So, you just did it to make yourself feel good?" He questioned. That he could understand.
"No!" Y/n immediately responded. "I did it because the way you guys get so happy, your reactions. Those are what make me feel good. I just like seeing all of you smiling and happy."
Jimin shook his head, smiling down at himself a bit. He knew what she meant, logically. But he still found it hard to trust.
"Our- My whole life.. no one has bothered to make me smile aside from Bang PD and the other six..."
Jimin thought back to the foster homes, shuddering slightly."It's just.. Strange.. to think someone else- someone like you would fit into that group." He spoke honestly, for once letting down his guard around Y/n.
