PETER'S SITUATION was becoming more and more complicated by the minute. Eden felt terrible, but there wasn't much she could do until things subsided. The last time she saw Peter was yesterday and things then were okay, but now?

Things had already gotten out of control. Peter called Eden explaining to her everything that went down. The air was heavy with tension, the weight of Peter's predicament pressing down on them both, like a dark cloud hovering overhead.

"I don't know what to do, Eden. I'm terrified. What's going to happen to MJ and Ned?" Peter's voice sounded rather shaky on the other end. Though Eden couldn't see it, Peter was pacing the floor of his room, his other hand continuously brushing through his hair as some sort of distraction.

"Matt and I will do everything in our power to make sure they're safe, Parker. That's a promise."

"I've already screwed up their chances at MIT. What if I do something wrong and the dean totally shuts them out for good?" He lets out a deep sigh. Peter finally stops pacing and finds himself sitting on the edge of his bed. The air in Peter's room was thick with worry, as if it was a tangible thing, pressing in on him from all sides.

"Peter, you have such a good heart. Let me talk to Ben and see what he thinks of the situation. And don't worry, you can trust him."

"Thanks, Eden. I should call MJ."

"Bye, Peter."

After their conversation, Eden kept her promise; she went to Ben's apartment that night to ask for advice. She had gotten his address in case they wanted to make plans before she left town, and it turns out that he doesn't live too far off from where she was staying. "Eden? What are you doing here?" Ben opens the door to his apartment and lets her in without hesitation.

"I have a bit of a situation..."

"Is this about that Peter kid? I thought you were done? Do you want something to drink?" Ben's expression was a mix of surprise and concern, his eyebrows knit together in a slight frown.

"Yes, kind of, and no. I'm not here to stay long. But thank you." Ben's apartment was cozy and warm, with the soft glow of lamplight creating a welcoming atmosphere.

"So, what brings you to my humble abode?"

Eden chuckles and takes a seat on the couch next to him, "Peter called me freaking out about his friends and college. I told him I'd talk to you about it and see what you thought since you go to MIT."

"Right. What's the deal with his friends?"

"He told me that his friends didn't get into MIT because they knew he was Spider-Man. He went to um," Eden pauses to clear her throat before continuing, "He went to a friend and he said to keep trying, keep trying to get in, but they wouldn't budge."

Ben leans forward, a serious look on his face. "That's a tough situation. I mean, I get that they might be worried about the whole Spider-Man thing. There's a lot of responsibility that comes with that kind of power. But if Peter's friends are just as smart and capable as he is, then they deserve a shot, too."

Eden's phone starts ringing and she picks it up immediately, "Peter?"

"Eden I just fought this cyborg dude and this green goblin dude it was crazy! I'm at Doctor Strange's sanctum place thingy and apparently the multiverse is real and-"

"Peter, slow down! Are you hurt?"

"No, no. I mean a little bruised but nothing broken! MJ and Ned are here with me and I've got this box that can trap people, monsters, from other universes."

"And this is all from the spell Strange did?"

"Yeah... The spell totally backfired, and now all these crazy characters from other universes are popping up in our world. It's like a villain convention in here. There's some dude called Electro who can shoot lightning out of his hands, and this giant lizard guy who can smash through walls. And Doc Ock is here too! He's got these metal tentacles that can crush cars like tin cans"

Peter took in a long sigh. He wasn't completely sure what his next step was going to be, and that's why he called Eden. Eden would know what to do, right?

Peter took a deep breath, trying to steady his racing heartbeat. "I'm so overwhelmed, Eden,' he admitted, his voice cracking slightly. "I mean, I'm used to dealing with bad guys, but not this many at once! They're all here because of me, and it's my responsibility to stop them."

"Okay... am I on speaker? Is everyone else there with you?"

"No... hang on. Now you are."

"Hi, Eden! Peter talks a lot about you, when am I going to meet you?" Eden could tell by the voice that was Ned.

Eden laughs and shakes her head, next to her, Ben also laughs. He must've heard Ned from his excitement, "Probably soon considering the circumstance. Anyway, you have the box?"

"Yeah, yeah. We have it."

"Where's Strange? Wong?"

"Wong wants nothing to do with this and Strange... I couldn't tell you where he went. He vanished, he's pretty pissed," Peter's voice trembles slightly as he speaks, and there's a sense of urgency in his words.

"Okay, okay. Can you bring all of the people...monsters that you have captured at the apartment?"

If Peter didn't have a plan, Eden would undoubtedly have to create one. And if she knows about anything with enemies, it's that you can't trust them alone. And if you can't trust them alone, why not bring them along?

"Yeah...yeah. I um, Aunt May is there, but I think she'd understand."

"I'll be there in twenty, Parker. And whatever you do, don't touch that button," Eden hangs up the phone and stands up from Ben's couch.

"I appreciate your advice, Ben. Um, can I meet up with you another time? Over coffee?"

Ben smiles and puts a hand over Eden's. In his head he always knew that Eden could take care of herself, but there was still a part of him that worried for her safety. Ben holds onto Eden's hand a bit longer than necessary, his gaze lingering on her face as he tries to hide the way his heart is racing.

"Be safe, Eden."

"Always."
