THE HOURS IN PETER'S APARTMENT seemed to pass slowly. He'd fix and tinker with the devices one by one, figuring out what needed to be done for his next person. Eden wasn't sure what to call them; she rejected the idea of calling them subjects—technically, they were, but that wasn't what she wanted to call them; she knew better than that, and secondly, it would most likely piss them off. Eden stood back, watching each of them and offering water and food to keep them calm.Eden could tell that one of them, Electro, was skeptical about the whole situation. His eyes burned with anger and he seemed impatient as time passed by. But, it finally had reached his turn for the chip, his was different because of his abilities, but Peter still managed to get something for him.
The two sat on the table in the main room right across from each other, "This...um just needs to power up for a little while, cause of electricity. I don't know why I'm explaining it to you..."
Peter stands up and makes his way back to the fabricator. Electro stared at the device that was planted onto his chest. A few high pitched beeps came from it here and there, causing him to grow annoyed. "Something feels off. I don't like this."
Electro shifts in his position and shrugs his shoulders back and forth. "Leave it, the sooner we get this done, the sooner we can get back home."
Eden pauses for a moment, debating whether it's a good idea to intervene. But she decides to stay for the time being. She sighs as she slumps onto one of the stairs. Peter comes back from the room he was in and stands in the middle of the main room. His head is turning in all directions, "May?"
"What is, Peter?" May is now standing next to Eden and headed towards the back room.
Peter abruptly shoots a web at Norman's hand and sticks it onto the window behind him. "We don't need to be fixed. These curses?" Norman chuckles, "They're gifts!"
"May, run!" May immediately runs out from the room and down the stairs to where the elevators are. Edens hurries over to Peter and stands her ground.
"Eden, go!"
"Nice try, Parker, but if you think for a minute I'm leaving you here with three against one? You'd be mistaken." Peter rolls his eyes and doesn't argue, he knows if he tries he'd lose. Eden knew that going against the three of them wouldn't be easy, but all that had mattered to her was getting Peter and May out of here alive and unharmed.
Electro rips off his device and throws it, and as it lands, it shatters, scattering glass and metal all over the floor. His hand is reaching out as if to grab something, and yellow streaks of light fly through the air, heading for the fabricator. Peter dodges it just in time, but not enough as Norman is pushing Peter to the balcony. "Peter! Shit!"
While Electro was distracted with Otto, Eden takes this as an advantage to get behind Norman and kick him to the railing of the balcony. He groans as he tumbles, but it's not long before he gets back up. Norman is quick to get a hold of Peter and push him down the building. Right now, he couldn't care less about what Eden was doing.
He was far too arrogant, and he didn't believe Eden had what it took to stand up to him.
"Dammit, you!" Eden follows down the stairs to meet them halfway, tripping several times before finally reaching them.
She waited around the corner, she saw that Norman was approaching Peter, but needed more room for what she was about to do. "Strong enough to have it all. Too weak to take it!"
Eden runs up before Norman can get a hold of Peter. She takes his arms and bends them behind his back in an uncomfortable position. "Gahhh!"
"You're too cocky for your own damn good, Norman. It's about time someone shows you," Eden launches herself at Norman, her fist connecting with his jaw in a swift, savage blow. Norman stumbles back, stunned by the force of the punch.
"You'll pay for that, but since I know you care so much about your boy Peter. He'll do," Norman kicks Peter in the stomach, sending him further down the hallway. And as quickly as Peter can, he limps his way to the broken window and onto the side of the building, climbing his way up to the roof. Before he can even reach the roof, the green lizard takes a hold of him and throws him back into the lion's den.
"Parker!" Eden gasps loudly as she witnesses Peter hits the floor hard, his breath knocked out of him. It felt like her heart had stopped then. But if Matt were here, he'd tell her differently.
He'd say something about her heart rate going up and how she needs to take a deep breath before it explodes out of her chest. She makes a dash to the hole in the floor and she stares down, watching and watching them fall.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Eden does her best to be as fast as she can down the stairs and into the lobby. When she reached the bottom floor, an eerie light shone through the windows. May was standing with the bag in her hand by the entrance, and Norman had Peter by the hair.
"Norman...please," Eden's voice is shaky, and she's on the verge of tears, but she knows better to give Norman a reaction.
"He tried to fix us..."
"May, run, please," Peter tries to speak, but all that comes out is a strangled gasp. He's trying his best to hold himself up and to stay awake, but it's a struggle. Every bone in his body is telling him that this is over. He's outnumbered, injured, and outmatched.
A pause was in the air as May was ready to attack, but a gush of wind flew in before she was tossed against the back wall from Norman's assistant. "No!"
Norman flies out of the building in a flash and sends some sort of homemade bomb just before he leaves, without looking back and with no remorse. Peter does his best to fling it back, but it doesn't do much. The damage had already been done the moment Norman threw it.
