PETER SWINGS himself across the ground, landing at the feet of MJ, Ned, and Eden who pull him into a tight group hug. Lingering longer as if the moment they did let go would be there last time together. Peter hesitates, his breathing labored and his body tense. He hates that it has to end this way, but it's the only way to keep his friends and family from getting hurt.

He looks up at the sky, checking to see if Stephen was still there, if he had time... "Yeah. You're gonna forget who I am." Eden stared at Peter, her eyes wide and her lips parted slightly, her shock palpable as the reality of his words sank in. She opened her mouth to speak, but words failed her.

"What?" Ned shakes his head. In the lengthening shadows, Ned's confusion and unease were tangible. His words hung in the air like a question mark, while the sound of traffic and distant chatter felt like an eerie soundtrack to the unfolding tensity.

"Forget who you are? What are you talking about?" MJ demanded, her voice breaking and her lip quivering. Eden could feel the guilt writhing in the pit of her stomach, her throat tightening.

She knew she had broken their trust by keeping the plan a secret. Internally, she berated herself, thinking, 'I should have just been honest with them.'

"It's okay...I'm gonna come find you, and I'll explain everything."

"I'll make you remember me."

Peter's words brush past MJ's mind, "But, what if that doesn't work? What if that doesn't work? What if we can't remember you? I don't wanna do that."

Ned and Peter completed their signature handshake, a bittersweet farewell. Ned's eyes welled up, and Peter took a step towards Eden, who met his gaze with glistening, crimson-rimmed eyes, "Parker..."

"I'm sorry I dragged you into this. You weren't meant to get in the middle. You were just supposed to support me, you and Matt. I didn't want you to get hurt."

Eden's emotions start to crack, tears spilling down her cheeks, "Peter, you didn't drag me into anything," she manages to choke out. "I chose to be here, to support you, as your lawyer... well, assistant lawyer," Eden lets out a gentle chuckle, her voice tinged with empathy.

"I know, I know. I just can't help but feel guilty for everything."

Eden's hand finds its way into Peter's, she squeezes it, a gentle reminder that he's not alone. As their hands touch, Peter feels a rush of warmth, like an anchor in the chaos of his emotions. He looks at Eden, trying to convey the intensity of his feelings without words.

The silence between them is thick with things they can't say, and the only sounds are their heavy breathing and the soft hum of the city beyond them. Yet, their hands, intertwined, speak volumes.

"You, uh, you should say goodbye to MJ first. I'll be over here," Eden releases her hand from his, her cheeks flushing with a tint of pink. Peter's eyes flicker to MJ and Ned, who are watching the exchange.

Peter finally says his last goodbyes to the pair, and makes his way back to Eden. His eyes never leaving Eden's, "That night. On the roof, I... I wouldn't let you say what you needed to say. I panicked, everything was already getting out of hand. I couldn't do that to MJ, I'm sorry. I don't know what to do. Because I..."

Eden stops Peter mid-sentence, "Save it, Parker. Tell me when you come find me, okay? Tell me then."

He nods, his lips set in a tight line, his eyes conveying a mixture of hurt yet understanding. He knew he fell for Eden. There was no denying that. The idea of hurting either of them was unthinkable.

He was torn between following his heart and protecting those he cared about. Could he have it all, or would he be forced to choose between the two?
