In the aftermath of the battle with villains, Eden grappled with a whirlwind of emotions. With the dust settled and their enemies defeated, she found herself confronting a different kind of conflict—an internal struggle that raged within her heart. Her childhood friend Ben had always been her steadfast companion, but lately, her thoughts were consumed by Peter Parker, the boy with a secret identity and a heart of gold.

Alone in the apartment she shared with Matt, Eden knew she couldn't keep running from the truth. It was time to lay her heart on the line. With a heavy sigh, she set off in search of Peter, needing to voice the words she had been too afraid to speak aloud.

---

"Peter," she began, her voice trembling as she gazed into his earnest eyes. "There's something I have to tell you."

Peter turned to face her, his expression a blend of concern and curiosity. "What is it, Eden?"

Drawing a deep breath, Eden summoned her courage and spoke from the heart. "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately...about us, and what we mean to each other."

Peter's brow furrowed in confusion, but he remained silent, allowing her to continue.

"I've come to realize that I care about you, Peter. More than I've ever cared about anyone else."

A flicker of hope ignited in Peter's eyes, and Eden felt her heart swell with a mixture of fear and longing.

"But I also need to be honest with you," she continued, her voice dropping to a whisper. "There's someone else, someone from my past...Ben."

Peter's expression faltered for a moment, but he quickly masked his disappointment with a forced smile. "I understand, Eden. You don't need to explain."

Tears welled up in Eden's eyes as she reached out to touch Peter's arm, desperate to convey the depth of her feelings. "Peter, please. I need you to know that...I choose you. I choose us."

As their eyes locked, something intangible shifted between them, a silent understanding that required no words.

Wordlessly, Peter intertwined his fingers with hers and Eden knew she had finally discovered where she belonged.

AUTHORS NOTE:

I cannot believe we are at the last chapter of Intertwined, the book took me so long to write, but so very worth it. I loved creating the different relationships Eden had with Ben and Peter... but perhaps in another life Ben and and Eden would be endgame 🫶🏻
