The cold autumn air nipped at Peter's nose as he stood on the doorstep of Eden's apartment, his hands shoved deep into his pockets. It had been a couple of days since the spell, and the void left by Eden's missing memories felt like a gaping hole in his chest. With a deep breath, he knocked on the door, determined to make her remember—to make her see what they had.
When Eden opened the door, she greeted him with a hesitant smile, her eyes searching his face for answers. "Peter, what's going on? You seem...off."
He managed a smile of his own, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Hey, Eden. I was thinking, why don't we go out? There are some places I want to show you—places that might help you remember."
"Uh, yeah. Let me grab my jacket and tell Matt I'm leaving."
Matt
As in, Matt Murdock. Mr. Murdock.
The lawyer that started this...relationship between Peter and Eden.
The one who pushed them together.
But most importantly, the one who stood by Peter and trusted him.
"Matt?! I'm going out for a little while! It's that Peter guy I told you about!"
"Peter's here? Let me meet him!" Eden rolls her eyes and turns her attention back to Peter.
"Hey there, Peter!" Matt's voice rang out from inside the apartment, his tone a mix of curiosity and protectiveness.
Eden sighed, shooting Peter an apologetic glance. "Don't mind him. He's just a little...cautious when it comes to my friends."
Matt stopped in his tracks when he reached the door. Surely there's no way Matt would remember him?
Strange did the spell on everyone.
Matt clears his throat and shakes his head, "Sorry. You're good to go, Eden. Just wanted to meet this Peter you've been on about."
She shrugged on her jacket and stepped outside, closing the door behind her. "So, where are we off to first?"
"You will probably think I'm crazy for this, but just trust me, okay?" Peter slips off his jacket to reveal his Spider-man suit underneath. He smiled nervously as he waited for Eden's response.
"That's...that's how we're getting there? You're gonna swing us? What if I fall? Do you know how high up we're gonna be?" Eden rambles and waves her hands in the air.
Peter couldn't help but chuckle at Eden's reaction. It was almost the same reaction MJ had the first time. The thought of MJ brought a twinge of sadness to Peter's chest, but he pushed it aside, focusing on the girl in front of him. Eden was different—she was special. And he was determined to help her remember their shared history.
