As Eden chatted and laughed with her friends at the donut shop, there was a persistent knot in her stomach that just wouldn't go away. There was something about the way the boy with the crumpled paper had looked at her, as if he knew her from somewhere. But she couldn't place where or why.
It was almost as if she had seen him before in a dream, or in a foggy memory that refused to come into focus. She glanced down at her coffee cup, lost in thought once again, as a pang of unease settled in her stomach. Ned notices her unusual behavior again, and pulls Eden over to the side. He'd never been so worried about someone, but the way Eden stared into space more than he had seen was starting to concern him.
"Eden? What's going on? You're kind of scaring me," Ned says, his voice wavering slightly.
Eden looked up at Ned, her eyes wide with surprise. "What do you mean?" she asked, trying to act nonchalant. But deep down, she knew that she couldn't hide her emotions and feelings forever. Ned's concern for her had caught her off guard, and she suddenly felt vulnerable and exposed.
"C'mon Eden. I've known you for a few months now and I can tell when something's off."
Eden sighs, she knows if she tries to deflect the situation, Ned will find out someway or another. So, she finally gives in. "I might sound totally crazy. And you don't have to believe me, but do you remember that boy that came in after Ben?"
Ned nods, he wasn't quite sure where Eden would be going with this, but he's willing to listen anyway. "Yeah. What about him?"
Eden took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts. "I know this might sound weird," she began, "but I feel like I know him from somewhere. I can't explain it, but I feel like we've met before. But I just can't remember when or where or how."
Ned furrowed his brow, trying to make sense of what Eden was telling him. "That's...definitely strange," he said, his voice faltering. "But if you're telling me that you feel a connection to that boy, then I believe you. What do you think it could mean?"
Eden considered Ned's question for a moment, weighing the options in her mind. "I think I need to do some digging," she finally said, determination in her voice. "I need to find out more about him and why he seems so familiar to me."
As Eden sat back down at the bar stool, a cloud of uncertainty descended upon her. She wasn't sure what to make of her feelings about the boy, and she wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of keeping it a secret from Ben. But she also didn't want to worry him unnecessarily, or cause any unnecessary tension between them.
Maybe she'd call up Matt to see if he had any leads or could figure out why this boy was so stuck on her mind.

Eden went back to MJ's house that night.
She dug into her pocket for her phone, her fingers shaking slightly as she dialed Matt's number.
"Hey Eden," Matt said, his voice warm and comforting. "What's up?"
Eden took a deep breath, trying to compose herself. "Well, I've been having this weird feeling lately," she said. "I keep seeing this boy around, and he seems familiar to me, but I can't remember where I've seen him before. I was hoping you might be able to help me figure it out."
Matt was silent for a second, processing what Eden had said. "That's definitely odd," he said. "Can you tell me more about the boy? What does he look like, and where have you seen him?"
Eden's thoughts drifted back to the donut shop, where she had first encountered the boy. He had been dressed in a long, trench coat-like jacket, and his brown hair had been cut short and a bit unruly. But what had really struck Eden was his demeanor - he had seemed tense and anxious, as if he were afraid to be there.
"Hmmm, that's interesting," Matt said thoughtfully. "A nervous young man in a trench coat doesn't exactly sound out of the ordinary, but I can understand why you're feeling uneasy about him. Do you think there's anything else that might be off about him?"
Eden considered this for a moment, trying to recall anything else that might have stood out about the boy. She remembered the way he had clutched the crumpled paper in his hand, as if it were some kind of lifeline.
"Yeah, yeah. He actually had this piece of paper with him. I'm sure it's nothing, but I could see him looking back at it like it was a speech he was about to give, but then he just shoved it right into his coat," Eden replies.
"I also think his name might be Peter. I was talking to MJ and Ned and for some odd reason I blurted the name out. I don't know any Peter's."
As Eden and Matt continued to talk on the phone, a sudden knock at her window made Eden jump. She hesitated for a moment, unsure of who could be visiting at this hour. Matt, sensing her unease, asked if everything was okay.
"It's probably nothing," Eden replied, though she couldn't believe that sentence fully herself. She walked towards the window, her heart racing.
Just as she reached to lift the window up, a loud crash sounded from outside, followed by the sound of shattering glass. Eden jumped back in surprise, dropping the phone to the ground.
"Eden?" Matt's voice called out, his tone now concerned. But Eden couldn't respond. She was too busy staring at the figure hanging off the ladder on the side of the apartment, their face shrouded in the shadows.
