∙ Madis POV ∙
"Stay exactly like this!" Nyx blurted out, sitting up next to me and looking at me with big eyes. "Wait, let me just—"
He moved his hand forward and tossed my hair over my head so that it felt like it was in every place now. I gave him an incredulous look, wanting to move off the bed but he stopped me and grabbed my arm. It was now a week after the High Lord's meeting and everything had returned to normality. Nesta and Cassian were more than alright with Noora liking Breea and hoped that everything would turn out good. Cassian even offered that he would personally talk to Tarquin and apologise again for what he had done. It really seemed like everything was going to be good...
"I said stay! You have no idea how beautiful you are right now. I want to...draw you. Please let me draw you." I chuckled loudly, shaking my head at him.
"Am I at least allowed to get dressed?"
"Absolutely not. I would honestly prefer nude but with the bed sheet it is also fine."
I scrunched my nose at him while he reached over to the bedside table, opening the top drawer and pulling out a sketch book alongside some pencils. He sat crossed-legged in front of me, moving the sheet over his lap.
"You are drooling, Starlight," he chuckled. I quickly lifted my gaze to look back into his face and then flipped him off.
"Says the one who wants to draw me..." I murmured.
"You should see how beautiful you are. The early morning sun perfectly falling over your head, your hair is glowing and you just look....so stunning," Nyx said, his voice a breathless whisper.
He took the pencil between his teeth, held it in place and brought his hands up to tie his hair into a loose bun. Well, maybe I was really drooling...
Nyx smirked, having noticed my expression and after having removed the pencil from his lips, he blew me a kiss. Then he put the pencil onto the paper and started with the first lines and swirls. His face was laced in eagerness and something like determination.
He was beautiful—concentrated and focused. I must have stared at him with heart eyes, glancing at the shadows that his long lashes drew to his cheeks. Then I let my gaze run lower, over his lips, his jaw, his neck and chest and back up again only to be met with an amused grin.
"Hold up," —leaning forward Nyx wiped his thumb over my lower lip and then kissed me shortly— "can't draw you with drool all over your face."
A shit-eating grin plastered his face to which I rolled my eyes at him. "Idiot!"
And he started to draw once again, bringing my face to the piece of paper. I enjoyed it—the peaceful silence and comfort. Nyx hummed lightly, his fingers smudging over pager to create shadows. I knew he was talented, but I had no idea he was that talented. Gods, he was an artist.
I had to smile to myself, then grinned at him.
"You know," Nyx said and lifted his head. "You are beautiful when you smile. But when you grin, you could light up the darkest place of the Hewn City. You are like the sun in endless darkness. You are the brightest star in the entire night sky."
Eyes brimming with tears, I gasped and could only lean forward to peck Nyx's lips.
"I had no idea my lover's not only an artist but also a poet," I whispered against his slips.
"Oh, Madis, I can be everything my lovely girl wants me to be."
With that he put his drawing utensils aside, shoved the blanket of my body and made me lie back. He climbed on top of me and when his lips closed over the puckered skin on my left breast he slid into me. We once again came together, damp skin moving against damp skin, him stretching me out, the tip of his proud length hitting that one spot inside of me over and over again, worshipping me until we both were fully spent and decided it was time for breakfast.
