∙ Madis POV ∙

"By now I believe everyone knows how much I like to hear myself speak," Rhysand laughed, making us all grin.

"But this is not about me this is abut my wonderful son and his beautiful mate. I want to say a few words, stating how proud I am of the male my little boys has turned into.

"You and your sister were the greatest gift that has been given to Feyre and I and from the first moment I held you in my arms I loved you more than anything else in this world.

"Now, Nyx, when you started to grow up I soon realised that you were going to look just like me— I don't want to brag but gods, that made me proud.

"Your personality also soon turned out to be similar to mine, it was just the tender and sensitive side you inherited from your mother. I often found myself in awe at how you treated things, animals and objects. I still remember the one time Noora stepped onto a beetle and you cried for an entire day because you were worried that the beetle's family would be heartbroken that they had lost a member."

Nyx blushed next to me, grinning while lowering his gaze to the ground. I leaned onto his shoulder and kissed his arm.

"You always had so much love for the small things and I know that the war camps changed you a bit. They changed us all and I am glad you found your way back to your true self. Madis, I think, was a great help with that." Rhysand inhaled a derp breath and smiled.

"Now to you Madis Archeron. I would say another big luck in my life was that you stepped foot into it, that you became my son's mate. You were exactly what he needed and happened just at the right time. Your kindness and selflessness often made me breathless and so did your boldness. You after all called the future High Lord an idiot and told the High Lady of the Night Court that she should get her filthy fae hands of you."

A tint of shame bloomed inside of me and I glimpsed over my shoulder at Feyre. I flashed her an apologetic smile to which she just shook her head and chuckled.

"But it proved to me how strong and brave you were. How much of a fighter you were and that was shown again when you conquered death and when you became Oktarsien in the Blood Rite. I am so very glad to have you in our life."
I was crying softly when not only Noora, but also Aesa and Geavin walked onto the dais.

"I honestly never thought that I would first stand on a dais with two mortals and secondly hold a speech. But here I am, or we are. I promise you to keep it short and just say the most important things the three of us scrabbled together." Noora grinned and tilted her head sideways. Aesa and Geavin looked at bit uneasy, smiling nervously, their gazes locked on me.

"When I first met you, Madis, I already knew that we were going to be great friends—or I at least hoped it. You were still mortal then, still ill, but there was always this part of me that hoped that we could have a chance of becoming friends.

"It was the same with Geavin and Aesa apperently. They told me that you befriended them in an instant. I believe that this is just in your nature. People want to be around you, you are probably the kindest, most self-less, honest and giving person in the world. There has never been a person—ugh shit!" Noora wiped her hand over her eyes, tears rolling down her cheeks. I was weeping as well.

"There has never been a person before that I have known for such a small amount of time but felt so accepted and respected and loved as a friend. I am so grateful for you, to have you in my life. We all are. The three of us couldn't be happier to call you our friend."

I stood in an instant, storming forward and curling my arms around all of them and we sobbed.

When we finally calmed down, Cassian clapped and flashed his daughter the proudest smile I had ever seen on the general's face.
