——— THE NEXT NIGHT, Kaarina stood in her dressing room as she assessed the beautiful gown her mother picked out for her. Since it was a royal ball, the dress wasn't like her other dresses. It was more formal, and uncomfortable.
Kaarina could already tell it would be.
The gown was purple, like Astrid said it should be, with black lace sleeves. It was beautiful, but it just reminded the young Lady that she was no longer a girl. She had to perform her duties as a member of her family. She had to get married, even if she didn't want to.

"Is that the dress mother picked out?" Kaarina turned back to find Rune had entered the room, a bright smile on her, "It's quite beautiful."
"Yes, I suppose it is," Kaarina said before a smile etched onto her, "I got you something..."
Rune watched her older sister quickly walk over to the other dresses she had, pulling out light colored one with white lace on it.

"For you, Rune," Kaarina told her and surprise filled the girl's eyes, "For the ball tonight. I went back to the dress shop and got it for you."
