FOUR-HUNDRED YEARS LATER...
The year of 1681, Princess Lidianna's birthday ball was right around the corner. The young girl was practically squealing in excitement, this year being the first ball she'd attend. Especially in honor of, well, herself!
Just a couple days prior to the ball, giggles were sprung out in the halls of the Palace as a smiling Lidianna ran through them, quickly heading for her parents' bed chambers. Her Aunt Rune had just told her that a game of Pal-Mal had been put into the schedule that day, and the little Princess almost burst into excitement.
The girl who looked to be 10-years-old in human years bursted the doors of her parents bed chambers open. "Mama! Papa!" she exclaimed, hearing the sounds of her mother and father groaning awake, "You must wake up! Aunt Runa has told me that we'll be playing Pal-Mal today! In just an hours time! You must—!"
"Lidi..." Her father, Prince Loki, suddenly shot up, looking at his daughter with a slightly annoyed expression. But he lightly smiled when he saw the excitement glimmering in her eyes. "We'll be down in just a moment," Lidianna grinned at her father before hurriedly leaving the room, closing the door behind her.
It was quiet in the bed chambers for just a moment until Loki suddenly toppled himself over the half-awake Kaarina, grinning down at her. She was always so adorable in the early mornings when she was still partly asleep.
"Princess..." he whispered before placing soft kisses on her neck, "My Lady, are you awake...?"
"No," Kaarina quietly said, her eyes still closed.
Loki lightly chuckled against her neck, causing the Lady to suddenly shiver, a smile perking onto her lips. She finally opened her eyes, glancing over at her husband as he hovered over her. He searched her eyes as a small smile plagued him. They'd spent almost half a thousand years together and yet, he still continued to get lost in her eyes. He continued to fall more in love with her with each day he spent in her presence. Which was almost all the time.
"Good morning, darling," he whispered on her lips before placing a tender kiss on her.
"Good morning, my love," Kaarina whispered back as he continued to kiss her.
Everytime he lips were pressed into hers, it always felt like the first time all those years ago. Kaarina always still felt the shiver of passion run through her as he kissed her, so desperately yet so lovingly. She knew that even hundreds of years from then, she'd still love Loki Odinson as much as she did now.
Rampaging through the halls of the Palace, Princess Lidianna was running away from Prince Triston, who was chasing her with a wild smile across him. Her dark blue gown swayed around as she went while Triston's growing hair moved as he ran after her. "You're going to tire me out before we can play Pal-Mal, Triston!" The Princess told her cousin, who now looked like an eleven year-old in human years.
