chapter one,
𝐉𝐎𝐓𝐔𝐍𝐇𝐄𝐈𝐌——— LIDIANNA SAT BEFORE HER SHINY VANITY, looking at herself in the mirror as Rune stood behind her, taking her hair from its bun, letting her long locks drop down while Livienne stood nearby, setting out dress choices for the Princess to change into. The three stayed in comfortable silence as the Princess thought to herself over the events that took place.
Frost Giants...The Casket of Ancient Winters...Wait—
She was just now realizing that everyone felt cold, shivering in the hall when the Frost Giants were attacking — but she didn't feel a thing. She only knew something was wrong when she physically saw ice growing on the ceiling. Why was that, she thought. That thought plagued her for the moment until she heard Livienne say something, something that quickly grabbed her attention.
She looked at the blonde through the mirror, her brows knitted together. "What did you say?" She asked.
She then glanced back at the blonde, as did Rune, both of them with the same expression over their face. The blonde nervously gulped, quite nervous from the intense eye contact. "There's whispers going on around the Palace, Your Highness," she said, "That His Majesty, Prince Thor Odinson, is leading an attack on Jotunheim in response to what took place today."
Rune stared at her with her mouth agape, but then closed it, pursing her lips. "No surprise there," she murmured as Lidianna abruptly stood from her seat, facing Livienne again, her brows furrowed up with her night sky eyes glimmering in many emotions.
"What?" she asked and Livienne stared at her nervously, "Doesn't he know that's forbidden? Hasn't he annoyed Grandfather enough?"
"Who else knows about this?" Rune asked, placing her hands on her hips.
"Besides the servants, Lady Sif and the Warriors Three, your father, and..." the blonde trailed off, glancing at the Princess and her aunt with a knowing look as the dark-haired Princess realized who she was talking about.
"Prince Triston?" Lidianna questioned and Livienne nodded.
The Princess grumbled under her breath before storming off to her balcony, hurrying off to the edge, trying to spot the group. And just as she predicted, she saw the group of warriors cross the grounds to a group of attendants, who began to ready their battle gear.
"Bloody Ragnarok," she muttered under her breath, turning towards her bedroom chambers again, her brown braided hair and purple gown flowing with her as she walked.
