There's nothing stopping us. No more arranged marriage...nothing...

——— IT'D BEEN A WEEK SINCE what would've been Prince Thor and Lady Kaarina's wedding. The Palace had been stilling quiet, almost like no one resided in it anymore.

Both families were taking their time alone to figure out where to go from there. Kaarina and Thor's courtship and engagement had been so public, it was troubling to know what to do know that it was over. Even more so — what to do about the realms and Triston.

The Allfather had permitted Kaarina and Rune to stay at the Palace since they both were already Ladys of the Court. Asmund and Lidia had stayed at the Palace until they knew what to do about Kaarina's situation — but they still haven't been informed of anything.

Kaarina had kept to herself the past week, not seeing the royal family members. Not even her own family members. Rune had been a bit upset with her for not being truthful for the past five years. Which Kaarina thought was understandable. Though Asmund and Lidia thought was ridiculous.

After another morning of Kaarina attempting and failing to get Rune to talk to her, the brunette walked the quiet halls of the Palace, holding a book. She was reading some of it, when she heard a small whisper call her name.

"Kaarina...pst."

The girl came to a stop, her dark blue maidens dress swaying as she turned back, find Prince Thor stepping out of a room. She stared at him confused as he glanced around, almost as if he was making sure no one else was around.

"Thor?" Kaarina questioned and he quickly looked back at her, shushing her. So she whispered, "What are you doing?"

He gestured his head for her to come inside the room. She furrowed her brows confused but reluctantly did so. And when she walked into the room, her confusion only spread.

It seemed to be a royal meeting. Except it was private. And a secret. The room was small, possibly the smallest room in the entire palace. There was a table, with multiple parchments spread across it and surrounding the table — were four people. One member from each realm Asgard still associated with; A Álfheimian. A Vanaheimian. A Niflheimian. And a Nidavellirian.

Kaarina stared at the members oddly before glancing at the parchment of — documents?

"Kaarina, these are members of the nine realms," Thor introduced as she eyed the four men, "Gentlemen...this is Lady Kaarina Kaelansdottir."

All four of them bowed, muttering, "My Lady," which honestly surprised her.

She then smiled at them as Thor continued, "They were here for the wedding."
