Bad moon rising

Rikki, Emma, Cleo, and I are at Cleo's house trying to find out whether tonight is the full moon or not. I got this paper moon scale thing to check. when we all get there Emma moves it around into the right place. She says "That's it. tonight's a full moon." Cleo says "This is making me nervous." Rikki says "You'll be fine. you two just need to control yourselves a little better this time." Emma says "You're not immune to it, you know, Rikki." I say "She has a point though, Emma. Rikki and I are the only ones not to fall under the full moon's spell." Rikki says "I'm better sure I can resist the big bad moon, even if you can't." Emma says "Look, I'm pretty sure we can all resist the big bad moon. I'd just rather be prepared." I say to Rikki "I do agree with Emma on this." Rikki asks "Prepared? do I smell another Emma plan coming? all we have to do is avoid the moonlight and water." Emma says as the doorbell rings and Cleo gets it "Still, I'd feel better if Cleo tracked down Miss Chatham. She seems to know how to deal with the full moon stuff." Rikki says "When she's not talking in tongues." I look to see who's at the door and it's...Zane? He asks "Uh, is your dad home? I need a word." Cleo says "I'll go get him." she walks away to find him and he looks at me and says "Hey, Madi." I roll my eyes and ignore him. soon after he and Don go talk in another room.

we decide to all chill out at my place for the full moon. Rikki and Emma are setting up blankets in the living room. Cleo and I are making food. Rikki asks "So, where's the rest of the Brady bunch?" I ask "You mean Roman?" she says "Everyone." Emma laughs and I say "My mom is in London to meet with my dad. Dallas is at my aunt's, and Roman is locked up in his room as always." Rikki asks "How did you convince your mom to leave you and Roman alone? and us to come over." I tell her "If anyone asks "we have a big science project due Monday. and she knows I refuse to see my dad." Rikki laughs and says "Got it." Emma walks over to Cleo and asks "So, Cleo, did you talk to Miss Chatham?" she says "No. I couldn't find her. This is a bad sign. a very bad sign. I know bad signs and this is one of them." I say "Relax. everything is done and we're all safe in my house." Emma says "Maybe. so, we're on our own." Lewis walks in and says "Not quite." I frown and say "Lewis, get out." Emma asks "I think what Madi meant was, Lewis, what are you doing here?" he says "Isn't it obvious? you guys want to risk it here? I'm full-moon-proofing the house." Emma says "I don't really think that's..." Lewis cuts her off saying "Just stop. Don't go all independent female on me. I just spent 40$ at the hardware store. it's ok. you can thank me later." I say "Whatever. but the BS up."

as it gets later we all start to block out any source of Moonlight. Emma says "There, that's everything." I add "Yeah, no Moonlight getting in here." I stand in the kitchen with the girls. Lewis says "See? I should've been a tradesman. We can all sleep easy now." all the girls ask "We?" he says "I'm up for a girl's night in. Snacks anyone?" I say "No, Lewis, you can't sleep here. I promised my mom no boys but my brother." he says "So, this is the thanks I get? I've got to say it hurts. It hurts right here." and he smacks his chest. Lewis says as he is leaving "Okay, I will call you every hour on the hour." Emma and Cleo are pushing him out while Rikki and I sit on the sofa in my living room. once the door opens Rikki sees the moon in a glass of water and I see it too. I go to touch it but the door closes and it's gone. I shake my head from the weird feeling I just got. Emma and Cleo come back over. Emma asks "Madi, Rikki, is everything all right?" I turn to her and say "Yeah. why wouldn't it be?" Rikki adds "Yeah, everything's fine." Rikki puts the glass down, she looks and sees Cleo near the curtains and says "Cleo, stay away from the curtains." I move and sit on my own as I start to feel extremely hot. Cleo says to Rikki "Okay..." Rikki also starts to feel really hot. I get up and say "Didn't someone turn up the heat?" I walk over to it and turn it down slightly. Emma says "No..." Rikki gets up and asks "Got any Ice cream?" I shake my head and she goes to my freezer. she looks in and says "Tofu, tofu, and more tofu. Who shops for this family? Don't you got any ice cream?" then she freezes with her hand in the freezer. Emma notices and walks over to her. I start to fan my shirt and ask "Why is it so bloody hot here?" Roman comes down and says "Hey, it's freezing in here! who turned down the heat?" I say "Me. it's so hot." he looks at me and comes over to put a hand on my head. when he does he rips it away and says "Ow! What the hell? you boiling, Madison." I look at him and say "I know that's why I turned down the heat. he says "Whatever. I'm going back upstairs. hey, Rikki." she smiles at him. and he heads back up. Emma asks "Rikki, did you find any Ice cream?" I say "Yeah, I could use something cold." I walk over and see water in the freezer. she says "No. and there's moisture in this fridge. She wipes her arm. Emma says "Rikki, it's okay." we both say "No it's not!" Rikki continues "Can't you see what's happening? we've sealed up all the ventilation and it's getting really hot in here." I say "We need to pull it down. now." I go to do that but Cleo grabs me and says "We can't, Madi."
