Moon Spell

Emma asked Cleo, Rikki, and me to help with her dad's surprise party. so we walk into her house and it's covered in black balloons. Rikki says "Welcome to my gothic world." I say, "I thought this was a party. not a funeral?" Emma scolds "that's not funny. it's my dad's birthday. it's an important night." we walk further in and over to the living room. Rikki says "I can't believe you organized this whole thing yourself. it's very um efficient." I say "I can. it's Emma. no offense." she looks at me and shakes her head. Emma asks Cleo "have I told you about the seafood?" Cleo says "only 25 times." Emma reminds "tell your dad it needs to be fresh and it has to be his best stuff. we need to have it here by 7:45. better write that down." Cleo writes that down. Rikki says "you seem a bit tense." Emma says "I'm not tense!" I say "um you sure?" she nods. she gives us tonight's itinerary. I suddenly get a bad headache. I stumble a bit. Cleo and Rikki look at me concerned. Rikki asks "hey, you okay?" I say "yeah, just a bad headache. I just need to sit down and drink some water I think." Emma gives me a bottle with a straw. she says "Why don't you blow up balloons with Elliot." I nod and Elliot sits with me and we blow up balloons and hit them at each other and laugh. he's a cool little dude.

After a few hours, I head to the cafe to write a little and hang out with my brothers. we are just drinking some juices and goofing around. suddenly Dallas asks "Mads, why are you so afraid of water?" I go wide-eyed. Roman says "I'm actually wondering that too. you never were before we moved here. what changed?" I sigh and say "I'm not afraid of it. I just don't like getting wet." they shrug accepting my excuse and we have a fun time till I get a text from Emma asking if I want to go visit Cleo at the marine park. I text back sure and that I'll meet her and Rikki there. I say to the boys "well, I got to go. see ya at home tonight." I wave bye and head to the marine park.

Rikki, Emma, and I walk up to Cleo's ice cream stand. Emma yells "hey, Cleo." Cleo asks "did you see that? that old woman. she was standing just there." I look at her confused. Rikki asks "what old woman?" Cleo says "she knows about us. she said something about the full moon being dangerous. and to keep Madison away from it." Emma says "I didn't see anyone." Rikki says "Me neither." they all look at me and I say "nope no old woman." Cleo says "she told me not to talk to sea perch and something about reflections and beware the full moon. and to keep Madison away from the full moon." Rikki says "sounds like she's had a bit too much sun." Cleo says "there's something different about her." Emma says changing the subject "but not as different as these. Gorgeous aren't they?" she pulls out these beautiful pink flats. I say "pretty." Cleo says "they're really nice." Byron walks by and says "Hey, Em." she says as she flips her hair "oh, hey, Byron." I smile and shake my head. Rikki mocks the hair flip and asks "what's all this about?" Emma says "don't be stupid. there's nothing going on. byron? forget it." I say "uhhuh. sure." then my brother runs up and grabs me I scream "aghhh! Roman!" Rikki smiles at him. I ask "what are you doing here?" he passes me my songbook. I go wide-eyed and say "oh my god! thank you. oh, roman, you remember my best friends, Cleo, Emma, and that's Rikki." Cleo says "nice to officially meet you." Emma nods in agreeance. Rikki says "hi. again." he smiles at her and says "hi." he starts to back up to go home but trips a little while saying "yeah, well, I'll, uh, I'll see you around, Rikki a-and girls. see ya at home, Madi." and he runs off. I look at Rikki and smirk saying "oh my god. you like my brother." she rolls her eyes and punches my shoulder.

Cleo, Rikki, and I show up early to the party to help. I have a massive headache. so, as soon as I get there I ask Emma "you got any Painkillers?" she looks at me concerned and asks "you okay?" she passes me painkillers and a glass of water and I say "yeah just another bad headache." and I chug the pills and water down.
